Welfare cards need to refresh on Mondays

Yeah, too bad there aren't enough entrepreneurs to start business to hire workers.

Entrepreneurs are working to sell their shitty online business with no sustainable model to some other larger corporation... they don't need workers, they need unpaid interns.

Huh? 80% of people on SNAP are employed...

This is crap because there are always entrepreneurs starting businesses that hire people. There's no conspiracy where companies are controlling wages as he suggests.

More bullshit. SNAP provides 1.73 for every dollar spent???? THEN GIVE ME SOME FUCKING MONEY THAT MAGICALLY CREATES MORE FREE MONEY FOR FREE. DID I MENTION IT MAKES FREE MONEY?

Working at WalMart or Starbucks 15 hours a week isn't having a job.

If I could get away with carrying a video camera with me and interviewing people about why they are buying junkfood with government money I would.

Since I can't, we can get back to the point. Why can't they release this free money on a Monday?

Oh yeah, one thing this reminds me of. Can we pass a law that makes old fucktards flip their scooter trailers back up off the ground when they go into a WalMart?

I saw a woman about break her neck last weekend because some old idiot left his black platform on the black pavement behind his brand new Explorer.

They need to put handicap spots at the back of the lot now, they all have scooters and electric chairs now anyway.

Psst... your smart phone, use your smart phone.
Dropped it 6 feet and the good camera broke. I have a gear2 watch somewhere but I don't remember where. The video part I could be sneaky, the "hey you stupid cunt don't you know pizza pockets and rootbeer aren't good for your 6 kids?" part wouldn't go over too well.

My Otter Box case has saved my phone a few times. Got it free from Amazon, get their credit card and they give you $50 free Amazon money.

So this is not a conspiracy?

Not a nationwide one affecting all jobs there are, no. And they're still not keeping new companies from forming and hiring whoever they want at whatever pay they can get agreement from the employees.

Actually it was nationwide and it effected pay of many people.

Minimum wage keeps this happening on a broad national scale though. You like economics, tell me what happens to the price of unskilled labor with nearly unlimited supply and no price controls.

If you like giant clunky tonka style cases. The phone didn't get a scratch. It might not even be damaged, might be all the porn and a virus.

It didn't affect what 7-11 pays or walgreens or costco or a few 10s of thousands of other companies.

No dice. Huuuuge stretch fail.

What happens when unemployment hits 4%?

Wages go up.

So instead of encouraging unemployment, maybe govt. policies should encourage employment?

Duh.

It doesn't have to be a conspiracy for its outcomes to be evident. Are you quibbling with the use of "aim" as understood to be "intentional"? Well, yes, if the desired economic system carries with it an inherent unemployment rate, I'd call any support of that economic system to be an aim for unemployment.

Capitalism has never provided (with the exception of Nazi Germany), and will never provide, full employment, or anything close to it. Unemployment is a necessity under capitalism; and here’s why.

Wages and profits are inversely related: when wages go up, profits tend to be reduced. Employers therefore want to reduce as much as possible the cost of wages. High unemployment disciplines workers and their unions and reduces the demand for wage increases, as workers are forced into negative competition with the unemployed. As businesses have become larger and global, this competition is now global, and workers are pitted against workers on the other side of the globe, reducing labour costs to secure profits.

Employers also invest in new machinery and technology to reduce their cost of production; and far from making workers’ lives easier, these new innovations replace workers, as employers again seek to reduce their labour costs and mechanise their production process.

Your source is dubious at best. Anticapitalist bullshit.

There is never full employment because some fraction, at around 4%, are between jobs.

So capitalism does provide as full employment as is possible.

I never said this... these are your words...

Reagan is the one who coined the word "Welfare Queen". This is what I'm talking about. Welfare fraud is basically nonexistent.

Oh, semantics. You said "You don't really know what you're talking about".

If you read my post about the myths of SNAP benefits you will see that he really didn't know what he was talking about. That's a far cry from telling someone that they're full of shit.

Body man also doesn't seem to understand the economics of the $1 turning into $1.73 of economic stimulus.

It is $.73, not more than a dollar. The tax collector needs to feed his family, too.

You have a lot of weird assertions in this post.

Not when you only privatize the gains and socialize the losses. Was capitalism doing so great when we were losing 750,000 jobs a month? Yeah capitalism did that shit... regardless of how much of a capitalist you are Denny, when you play football without face masking Rules somebody gets hurt.

It wasn't capitalism if there were regulations.

So stand up that strawman and beat it up all you want.

Capitalism doesn't socialize the risk or the rewards. Business doesn't take on absurd risk if the government is not going to bail them out. The crisis would not have happened because the poor risk loans would never have been made.

Businesses played by social democracy rules and they fucked us all.

$1 is $1. You can't magically turn it into something more. You can tax it into something less. Duh.

Just one dollar of SNAP/Food Stamp benefits creates a “ripple effect” through the economy. A study by industry research firm Moody’s Economy.com looked at the potential impact of each stimulus dollar. According to economist Mark Zandi, “some provide a lot of bang for the buck to the economy. Others … don’t.” Zandi said that the study shows the fastest way to infuse money into the economy is through expanding the SNAP/Food Stamp program.
