Well my Xbox picks a great time

After playing GTA IV for only about 6 hours in all i get the Red Ring of Death.

Let me just say i am NOT AMUSED!!!! At least they're fixing it for free. I will personally punch the next Xbox i see. Really Gutted and i can't beleive it. The only Slightly good thing is that i have exams coming up and although i can control my time on the Xbox it gives me more revision time i guess

Yeah, mine crapped out a couple weeks ago. Really bad timing. Bought an Elite and it's been fine so far.

The way I look at it, if I play it (on average) 1 hour a day, that's 365 hours a year, and even if I buy a new one every two years I'm still paying less than $1/day for it plus games and accessories. Hard to find cheaper entertainment than that.

No. You're supposed to remove your HDD before sending it in.

Lol it wasn't 6 hour straight. I played about 4 hours all together on release day over like 3 sessions. Then was playing for nearly 2 hours when it happened. My friends are saying why aren't you pissed. I just said "i am but whats the point in getting angry, It's not gonna fix my Xbox. And MNFL they tell you to take the HD, Memory Cards etc off.

The amount of hours you play shouldn't break your system. We paid good money for it.

True. I didn't pay £210 ($420) for a machine that i know is going to break. I posted it on the Xbox Forums and they were all amazed it lasted 3 years.

I was Considering it but then i realised i'd have to wait 2 years before i got it. THe only way in which a PS3 beats a 360 is the fact that the 360 Doesn't have Metal Gear Solid

I was going to get a 360 but all this melt downs made me not get it.

I was gonna get a PS3 before I realised I wouldn't have enough to buy any games, not necesarilly a bad thing because the games are shit. Also I realised Gears Bioshock etc are exclusives.

The PS3 is great and all, but it just doesn't have a strong game library yet. The 360 already has a bunch of really good exclusives, which helps tremendously. The only thing nice about a PS3 is the fact that it has like, a 2% failure rate while the 360 has about a 30%.

As for mine, mine has been great (knocks on wood), and I've had it for about 9 months now. The only scare was when it stopped reading games for a couple days after I got Bioshock, but then it started working again and was probably faster afterwards too.
