Your comparison clearly shows Giles as a favored player for Stotts If no minutes, then no block of stats.

Don't you wish we had a frontcourt like New Orleans and didn't have to give minutes to players like Giles?

I liked Gabriel, only because he was fearless under the hoop. It's like a kitten or a puppy. Aw, isn't that cute. He was a new toy to examine and then get tired of, a novelty.

Gabriel appeared 2 years away from being 1 year away, while Meyers Leonard always appeared 2 years away from being 5 years away.

Just stop it about Gabriel. The best G-Leaguers are far more polished. Why don't you start threads about our other 15th men of recent years?

We'll see.....
I still haven't forgotten him, nor have I forgotten that little French girlfriend I had in 1997! However it seems New Orleans has forgotten him. He only gets an average of three minutes a game; behind Steven Adams, Jaxson Hayes, Zion and Hernangomez. Looks as if he made a bad choice going there.

He had a choice? It must have been the G-League, since Europe doesn't waste money on American long-term projects.

Also, he was injured for part of this season.

Hell, this season *alone* G3 has almost scored as many points, blocks, as WG has in his career, has more rebounds, twice the # of blocks, more FG's this year than Wenyen has for his *career*...

The team didn't miss out on Wenyen. Especially considering you compared his usability to that of Melos.

I love your dogged insistence that the only things of value that a player does on the court are measurable in points, blocks and rebounds.

I’d settle for having Nurk and Collins and giving Giles only spot minutes. He works hard and has some talent, but he’s too small to play the 5 spot and doesn’t have the consistent outside shot for the 4.

well, maybe if Wenyen actually played minutes, we could see this magical value points you deem so important.

You're gonna throw a +/- stat out there
I guess we have different understandings of "vital"

Then try to make a case about Points/Rebs/Blocks not being the only thing of Value?

Really? SMH.

Presumably we ditched Wenyen because we were signing Harry Giles.
On the season:
Giles III: -67
Gabriel: +7

This is why Lillard recently called out those that read the box score without watching the game. Even taking last year's production of Gabriel, there is no way I would rather have that over what Giles has brought this year.

Giles is the better player now and has more potential. Give NO credit.

Why give Olshey credit for doing the obvious, replacing a wannabe undrafted journeyman with no experience, with a journeyman drafted #20 with 2 years experience.

That's like praising the janitor for emptying the wastebasket. Let's see Olshey drive up a big garbage truck and move out some big green flaming plastic dumpsters like McCollum.

Starting with Vonleh, Olshey has simply relied on high school rankings to decide his annual pickups. Give the credit to this list, not Olshey.

3 fouls in 19 minutes is impressive!

Gabriel always seemed like a good guy, but he's a great reminder of why you shouldn't over-value potential in a young player. I think it's awesome he's stuck around in the league this long!

Well shit, what are most of the people here gonna do then??

Wait…. Who over valued him?

Wait…. Who over valued him?

I'd have to dig back into the 2019-20 game threads and the 2020 off-season threads, but my (at times faulty) memory recalls people thinking this guy was worthy of minutes and had real upside.

It's Tince. He doesn't actually need another person to say it for him to be contrairian.

Now that's a very contrairian thing of you to say, when everyone else agrees with me!
