Wesley Matthews (@wessywes2) undergoes elbow arthroscopy. Recovery time expected to be 3-4 weeks http://bit.ly/ZeCgZE

PORTLAND, Ore. (May 29, 2013) – Portland Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews underwent a successful arthroscopic debridement of his left elbow today. The procedure was performed by Dr. Ken Yamaguchi at Washington University Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Matthews’ recovery time is expected to be 3-4 weeks.

In his fourth NBA season and third with the Trail Blazers in 2012-13, Matthews averaged 14.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, a career-best 2.5 assists, a team-high 1.30 steals and 34.8 minutes in 69 games (all starts). His career-high 169 3-pointers last year rank fourth on Portland’s all-time list for 3-pointers made in a season.

glad he had the surgery, and even happier it's his oft hand(elbow)

Someone should tell the team docs it was his ankle that was the problem, not his elbow...

#Blazers G Wesley Matthews here at the practice facility watching the prospects work out. With a wrap on left elbow, as expected

I love Wes. It's too bad he never really got to be the backup SG for which we signed him. If Roy's wheels wouldn't have fallen off, we could have reduced Brandon's minutes and Wes would have been terrific against the other teams' bench players.

Another day another blessing, post elbow surgery update, 2 degrees off of full extension and 10 off of full flexion 3 days out
