How much longer are the Thunder going to be the "it" team, it's really getting boring seeing people slobber all over them.

Its funny how much you guys hate them for taking your spot as the media darling young team who has never won anything of relevance.

Here's to hoping my W's will earn that title in 10-11 lol.

Now we know how the rest of the league felt in 2007 and 2008 when we were the golden kids.

I gotta admit, there's some truth there. Though if all goes according to normal, the Thunder will be out of the spotlight in a year or two after failing to improve or getting an injury or two.

I don't hate them, i just find it boring hearing about them all the time, but that is funny how fickle the media is lol.

they finished behind our decimated team.. honestly I'm not worried about them. Haters gonna hate ;)

But they got Cole Aldrich Wheels, he alone will vault them up 6 spots!

Rankings are generally:

1. Look
2. "WHAT, OUR TEAM ISN'T ONE OF THE TOP TEAMS?"
3. The writer sucks/and or/has no credibility

I don't really agree with most of those rankings but he did get the top 8 teams in the west up there, just not in an order I like. Suns/Jazz i'd put behind us and the rockets I dunno about. as thats said I wouldn't put us in the top 4 of the west tell we know if Oden and everyone else can stay healthy.

I really don't see how the Suns, Mavs, or Spurs are ahead of us. I swear those teams get by based solely on name recognition. How good could the Suns possibly be without Amare next season? Is Hedon't gonna carry the scoring load? The Spurs are one year closer to Tim Duncan retiring, as are the Mavs with Nowitzki getting further from his prime as well. Oh well, if we somehow get CP3, we will be vaulted to the #2 spot. Just watch.

Until Kevin Durant retires, leaves or is traded.

I disagree. I think KD's foul shots drop by two attempts a game next year. He didn't "do the right thing" and take a short contract or somehow force his way to the big markets. That's my take. His FTA's were fucking absurd last year and I actually agreed with P. Jackson on that point. Talk about a media darling bullshit.

How are the Suns even on that list?

Most egregious team ahead of us with SA second. Of course SA got BETTER with Tiago Splitter, Suns are gonna set next year and Houston will beat them out of the 8th seed if Yao is healthy.

ROFL Portland is #2 or #3 at least imo assuming their healthy. I don't really have a problem with Phoenix there, they may have lost Amare but they got a lot deeper with the additions of Hedo Turkoglu, Josh Childress, and Hakeem Warrick. Oklahoma City is way too high, they are gonna be the 7th seed at best. They are a two man show with no bench and no big guys. They don't have a guy you can throw the ball into to get easy baskets, until they get that they are gonna stay where they at. Denver needs to be higher. They only lost in the 1st round because of Goerge Karl.

Dude did you watch Hedo last year? Unless he plays better with Nash, I don't think he's going to make that much of a difference for Phoenix. Childress is decent, but he's a role player. They didn't find anyone to replace Amare as a primary scorer.

People wrote off the Suns last year too, saying they would struggle to make the playoffs. They ended up in the western conference finals.

Yeah, but Phoenix had one respectable big and some backups. Now all of their bigs are backups. Hedo's more of a 3 than a 4.

That was with Amare. Do you really think that team would have beaten us in the playoffs without Amare?

So what, people were crapping all over Amare the year before. My point was that people wrote them off as a team that was likely going nowhere, and I see people doing it again this year. I don't know if they're good enough to nab a top spot again, but don't write them off. Hedo, Childress, and Warrick can definitely surprise teams.

Did he pick the Blazers to make the play-offs? Since that is all the Blazers have actually accomplished, that is all the credit they have earned. When they actually make it to the second round, then they can complain that they deserve to be considered a top 4 team in the West.

Well, if I keep writing them off, eventually they will live up to my expectations :)

I totally disagree with those rankings, but personally I kinda like it. I always prefer being underrated to overrated.

OKC won't fall. They did what I think is called...a better move? Took...some kid...Durant? And...built....a great team around him. But you guys won't ever admit that. The Thunder will be a top 5 team in the NBA. They have all the talent, it's about to go down. Portland however I think well make the playoffs, but facing LA or OKC....gonna be tough.

Not everybody has blinders on.

Oh Geezus.

OK didn't make the "better move". In a two player draft, they picked the one leftover. You don't get credit for NOT being a total doofus.

As for being a "great" team. We shall see. They suprised the Lakers in the first round to make it interesting, but they did lose after all.

What OK did enjoy last season, was the healhiest year of ANY playoff team.

Portland, by contrast, suffered the most games lost to injury among their expected rotation players of any playoff team.

When OK has a normal year in terms of injuries, we will see if they are a great team.

It is my opinion that they are a decent big man away from doing any damage. They didn't get it done this summer. Imagine if they had drafted Tyreke Evans instead of Harden. Then, they could trade Westbrook or Evans (plus maybe Green) for a really good big and then they would be set.
