Westbrook to Houston

He's not. But there are degrees to that. It's not an all-or-nothing proposition.

Paul needs the ball in his hands offensively all the time, and he's not nearly as good as Westbrook anymore. It's not close.

The post was about how Westbrook would co-exist with another star. He's not the one to worry about. If this doesn't work, it will be because Harden's ego is too big for it to work, that he won't share the ball.

Well, we will see in time, but I don't see Westbrook being happy with 30 plus shots by Harden.

I have no idea, but I’m sure he won’t stay in OKC and he and LeBron are tight.

Lakers can't match salaries, so there's no path with a trade

no team is going buy-out a 3-year/123M deal, so the chances of Paul being a free agent to sign there seem nil

that leaves Paul walking away from 123M so he can play for the minimum in LA....snowball meet hell

I don't know what's better.
I get to watch Westbrick ruin Houston.
Or
OKC fans crying because they can't standing their favorite player. In a Rockettes uniform.

Time for OKC fans to head to Presti's house....

OKC does not need to buy him out. They can keep him on the team and trade every player they can for more draft picks over the next 3 seasons.

They could also trade him at a later time. No need to cut him if he's still a viable player that can be traded for assets later on down the road.

Why would they buyout a contract worth that much money?
Because i tell Paul he's taking 50 cents on the dollar or else he can sit in OKC for two years. Forget about what other players or agents think; there is no loyalty anyway.

Why would he take 50 cents on the dollar for that amount?

Cuz he wants to play with the Lakers that bad? I wouldn't care if I was Presti; it's take it or stay here.

There's no precedent for a player giving away 50% of his guaranteed money in a buyout, much less when that 50% guaranteed is 70 million. If Paul does it, props to him, but the chances of that happening are about as good as the Phoenix Suns winning the title next year.

its a ridiculous notion

50% of his deal is about 60 mil. Why would OKC give a guy 60 mil to go away to a different team?
Idk why this isn’t a three way that centers around:

Houston: Westbrook

OKC: Dragic, Johnson, picks

Miami: CP3, maybe a pick?

Then set a new precedent; I am tired of these spoiled multi-millionaires doing whatever they want; and if I was GM that's what I'd do. We'll see if Presti has the stones.

Cuz he doesn't fit their rebuilding situation and it's be great to save $60 million. And they don't really want to help the Lakers.

But giving up 70 million? Would you do that?

What the hell are you on about? The blocker on a buyout would be Paul. Presti would obviously be okay if Paul was willing to give up 50% of his guaranteed cash. Not gonna happen. Paul is gonna stay in OKC till he gets traded.

I did not know that Paul was owed OVER $140 MILLION. I rescind my bet.
