With the first pick the second pick the third pick the fourth pick and the fifth pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, the OKC Thunder select.....

What the hell are you on about? The blocker on a buyout would be Paul. Presti would obviously be okay if Paul was willing to give up 50% of his guaranteed cash. Not gonna happen. Paul is gonna stay in OKC till he gets traded.
I'm saying Presti would have to be firm sticking with his buyout %.

Hope CP rots on that rebuild team. That guy is the biggest whiner in the history of the NBA. Always blamed his teammates and refs. That said I do believe he’s one of the best PG’s to play the game (too 15-20)

Personally I would. But if I am Presti I don't really care what Paul would or not do.

Presti can't buyout Paul unless Paul agrees to a buyout. It's not Presti's call. He can waive him, but then they would still be on the books for his full salary so that would accomplish nothing.

Because i tell Paul he's taking 50 cents on the dollar or else he can sit in OKC for two years. Forget about what other players or agents think; there is no loyalty anyway.

and that could sure eliminate free agents coming to OKC.

Time for OKC fans to head to Presti's house....

Presti has had an awesome offseason. They've got picks up the ying yang, and they'll get more when they flip Paul.

They have had a very interesting offseason, they go from perennial playoff team to, hoping some of those picks turn into good players. Which ya never know. Picks can be incredible assets or basically nothing...

I hope the NBA would block the Thunder, in case they tried to buyout CP. For whatever reason that might be. NBA should never allow CP to be bought out. This would just be sick.
I can imagine CP forcing the Thunder to buy him out, so he joins the Lakers.
8 first round picks? The NBA needs to stop this. They might even get more picks by trading CP3.

Presti is a good GM. He was in a pickle when Durant left, and took a big gamble on PG. Somehow, it paid off. Now, he's restarting
with a bevy of picks. He'll make them work, unfortunately.

The interesting part to me is that OKC has never not made the playoffs. We'll see how the fans react.

Hey if Chris Paul is willing to give up millions and millions of dollars so be it... I don’t think folks understand how hard it is to agree on a favorable buyout with someone owed 140M

How much money do you think Kawhi has left on the table? How much money has LeBron, Durant left on the table by signing short term deals?
I'm not CP3, but if the ring is my main motivation ... I would be willing to leave money on the table for a chance at a ring at age 35.
AD also left money on the table when traded recently.

AD left a measly 3M or so off his contract to help his team. How much is Cp going to suck up and happily give up from 140M guaranteed to him ? Would he agree to 3M like AD gave up? Hell yea he would... that’s nothing in the grand scheme of millions.

It’s going to take A LOT more than that..

And this is likely CP3's last huge contract payday. His current deal ends by the time he's 36 years old. He'll probably save and/or invest the remaining 3 years he has on his contract as his career winds down.

Meh all it shows you is how easy it is to start a rebuild

Yep it is easy to start the rebuild, not so easy to finish it in a small market when you don't get help with super star free agents.
If the Blazers were going on year 7 without making the playoffs like the Lakers, the Moda center would be empty because LBJ and AD would not be there to save them. Presti swung for the fences and it will be interesting to see if he can dump Adam's and CP3 contracts.

Houston on the other hand had no choice....no one else would take CP3's contract and he and Harden were over. Can't see how Harden and Russ will work either.
