The Westchester Knicks (22-16), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, defeated the Canton Charge (24-14) at home tonight, snapping the Charge's 12-game winning streak with a 115-112 win.
Coming off of their 12th win in a row, Canton quickly flexed their muscles. But the Knicks did their part to pace the Charge, led with 12 points from guard Jordon Crawford. Westchester County native Ra'Shad James, very familiar with the Westchester County Center from his time at White Plains High School, wasted no time on his home court by scoring back-to-back buckets upon entering the game. Canton would come out of the first quarter with a slight 33-29 edge.
A second quarter slump plagued both teams; the Charge only able to muster 16 points with the Knicks only slighter better at 22. Canton gave up 12 points in turnovers, going 0-for-5 from downtown and shooting just 20 percent from the field. Westchester found themselves in some foul trouble, the Charge collecting 10 of their 16 points from free throws. The Knicks headed into the locker room leading 51-49.
Both teams recharged at the half, with Canton taking back the lead early in the third.
