I figured the Western Conference Finals deserved their own thread, seeing how it starts in less than 11 hours.

I started to try to do what darkwebs did with his game threads, but the coding was too annoying, so here's my dumbed down version -

Grizzlies.......................Spurs

Starting Lineups:

PG - Mike Conley..........PG - Tony Parker
SG - Tony Allen...........SG - Danny Green
SF - Tayshaun Prince....SF - Kawhi Leonard
PF - Zach Randolph......PF - Tim Duncan
C - Marc Gasol..............C - Tiago Splitter

Key Reserves:

SG - Quincy Pondexter..SG - Manu Ginobili
C - Darrell Arthur..........C - Boris Diaw
PG - Jerryd Bayless.......PG - Gary Neal

Predictions? Thoughts? Rants?

I've got to go with the Grizzlies in 6. We were able to take one in San Antonio two years ago when we were less experienced and the Spurs were less old, so as a fan, that's got to be my prediction.

I'm honestly getting annoyed with all of the publicity... the same publicity that I used to complain about not having for this team. A lot of the writers that haven't watched us all season long are predicting us to take the series and face the Heat in the finals. Yeah, we knocked them out of the playoffs not too long ago, but back then we were the hunted, not the hunter, and it almost seems like we're the media's favorites to take the series now, which has got to be an unfamiliar position.

Fortunately, guys like Z-Bo and Gasol have a real working man's mentality and approach to these games. I doubt they'll let the media get to their head to much, but I'm worried about Hollins/Conley. I'm not sure who was responsible for it, but Conley was given too much freedom in game 6 of the OKC series, right after the media kissed his ass all week. He had a good game by the boxscore, but he made a lot of over-aggressive moves that resulted in bad plays... plays that he never really instigated prior to the hype.

I don know who will win, but I expect a more exciting series than the eastern conference.

Btw, it's funny that, iirc, San Antonio and Memphis are both closer to Miami than Indianapolis is.
