what about ray allen?

actually considering i brought up this whole conversation....nate was in no way why i brought up bringing ray allen to portland. i thought he would of been a good fit especially at the end of games when roy has the ball in his hands. nates grown as a coach, back then he was still learning as a coach and i think everyone deserves a little learning curve time dont you? you should unless you think you can step in and do a better job. i dont hear anybody on our team upset about nate besides rudys bitch ass who belonges in the WNBA. andre miller had a problem but they got through it and andre ended up being great.
obviously mediocre dbag or whatever his name is partly right but in no way does it sound like ray allen disliked or would never play for him again. and who knows how much boston is going to pay him this summer, jsut because you can jump to conclusions that theyre going to win a title this year doesnt mean theyre going to wanna keep him. (they are in game 1 of the ECF) so really every point disagreeing with me is basically incorrect. and i wasnt asking if they got along, theyre big boys trying to make money and win a championship and who knows maybe it could be a great oppurtunity for allen. he sounds like a class guy that wouldnt hold alot of grudges

If he were looking for money and championships, don't you think there would be better places to look besides Portland? We haven't gotten out of the first round yet and will only have the MLE to offer.

well mr. selfdestruct for money? no i dont think there are alot of better places for him then portland considering we have one of the richest owners if not the richest own in the leaugue, and will open thos deep pockets up for an older player that can still get it done(marcus camby 2 yearts 21 mil). championship wise why couldnt we be a good fit? if things dont work out in boston whos gonna go get him? the lakers? no. the spurs? no. cavs? maybe if lebron stays that would be pretty cool. jsut because we havent made it to past the first round means nothing for next year. plus i dont think i ever stated an opinion besides the fact that that article didnt make a case either way for how much he liked nate? i mean if you really wanna have this convo then doesnt it say "i like nate, we all liked nate?" so.....? i guess i am right thank you for pointing it out. i just wanted to know what you guys thought about him playing in portland. not if it was a dumb idea or if he liked our coach. People here largely don't want to argue your point. Typically, it is about name-calling and degrading you for having a differing opinion from a group of 10 or so posters. This wouldn't be a problem except that 2 of the group are mods. One who posts gifs calling posters "trolls", and the other who doesn't really want to argue a core position, but rather picks his side of the debate based on who initiates a thread.

It's a very unique group here.

Who's hating on Nate? the subject of going after Ray Allen was brought up BECAUSE he played for Nate, some of us pointed out that there's some history there that would make that problematic.

Listen, I don't think McMillan is a top flight coach, I just think he gets way too much hate around here, thus I always stick up for him. He's better than people give him credit for on this forum.

Richest owner or not, we are still bound by the CBA. Camby's contract was an extension, not a free agent signing which is why we were able to pay him what we did. Allen will probably be able to fetch more than the MLE after the dust settles (LeBron lottery, Wade, Bosh, etc) and teams with cap space have money to burn.

As far as fit in Portland, sure, I'd love to have his 3 pt shooting ability, but I don't want him taking minutes from Batum or Roy, so essentially we would be paying the MLE (or more if we sign and trade) for a guy to play ~24 minutes a game. I'd much rather target a guy like Morrow who will likely be cheaper and be able to be around for a few more years.

Either way, he'll stay with Boston for a couple more years as the Celtics try and get the most out of their guys as they can. Garnett/Pierce/Rondo/Sheed are all around for the next couple years, so I see them keeping Allen and riding those guys until the wheels fall off, then blow the roster up and start over. They could start earlier, but who knows.

I wouldn't think he would, I just listed Roy since that's the position Allen plays.
