Hard to "support our troops" when I see things like this.

Also this which is interesting.

Am I going to hell for laughing?

EDIT:

Just watched the second video... nothing really shocking or haunting about it. What's the big deal? The Iraqis don't want to cooperrate? Not exactly a big revelation.

That's probably the biggest prick move I've ever seen on video. Those guys obviously don't give 2 shits about the freedom of Iraq.

Aww man. That kid ran all the way and when the water bottle was finally thrown, he didn't get it. That guy holding the water bottle is a true ***. He made 8 year olds run for bottles for all that time. That isn't even funny.

No the point was that the Iraqi's aren't even ready to take control of their own country. That means more time over there if the U.S. Government is sincere about helping Iraq.

Wow, does that suck. It's funny how we're supposed to give our troops the utmost respect, but you have to keep in mind that many of them aren't the hero figures that history teaches us about. It really sucks to see something like that from somebody who respresents our country.

I would guess there are troops also out there who would give thirsty children bottles of water, but I don't think that would be posted on the net.

It must be a tough situation for lots of people in Iraq now.

I laughed my ass off. That video was hilarious. If that was just some random guy driving somewhere in America, that would be in the Make Me Laugh section, but because it's such a sore subject, it's here.

Are you kidding bro? That was disgusting and if you actually laughed then that is horrible. That kid just wanted some water and the soldiers had to play games with him and make him run for more than a mile. As if that wasn't enough, the poor kid didn't even get the bottle in the end. It's terrible that anyone could do this to the poor kid, and I hope you really didn't laugh at that. I don't care if this was happening in my backyard, it wouldn't be funny at all.

What I'm trying to say, there is a double standard here. If it was here in America, people wouldn't even post this. If they did, it would be in the Make Me Laugh section of JBB. Is it sick? Yes.

I don't want to speak for everyone but I know I wouldn't laugh if this took place in America. Messing with the minds of poor, thirsty children isn't funny, regardless of where it is happening. I agree that the situation is made worse because the guys are soldiers and society looks up to them as heros. However, even if it were a random guy doing this I'd feel bad for the kid.

Humor often comes at the expense of others. That's nothing new.

Wow, thats a pretty chicken s*** move by the gut with the waterbottle. The kid runs like a mile pretty fast and doesnt even get it. The sad thing is the state of the Iraqi utilities such as electricity and water is still horrible. The poor kid might have really needed that.

But when the humor is coming at the expense of a poor child that just wants some water because he is extremely thirsty, I'm not laughing.

If the kid ran that far, I don't really think he was malnourished.

<div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">If the kid ran that far, I don't really think he was malnourished.</div>

If he was willing to run that far just for a bottle of water, obviously it's not easy for him to obtain.

Get a sense of humor. What, we can only joke about the financially stable and physically powerful now?

Especially now after running nearly two miles...

I really hope you're joking, bro. I don't know how anyone with a conscious can find that funny.

Plus, did you see the way the whole group of people converged on the bottle after he threw it out of the car? Throw a bottle of water out of a car in the US and people are not going to fight for it.

Is it unethical? Yes, no one's arguing that.

It can still be funny though.

No, our eyes went blind on that part.

Plain and simple, if the kid can run a mile or so for water bottle at a constant speed, I think he's doing fine. He looked pretty well off to me.

You're entitled to find it funny. But don't try to downplay their situation. Water is obviously a scarce resource in that area and it's pretty clear that they're lacking the basic necessities.

I find it odd that people in this continent still question why the Iraqi's (and Middle East for that matter) isn't more accepting of an American presence.

anyone who laughs at this is a loser. period.

context is everything. who cares IF it would have been some random guy in the U.S. it would have been "funny" - the point is it isn't some random guy, it's a soldier of the most powerful country in the world fighting a war and a helpless poverty-stricken kid most likely extremely thirsty.

if you saw a video of two guys beating each other up of equal strength that might be funny too.
If you saw a video of a guy beating up a pregnant woman that might be less funny don't you think?

wow dude

Beating and messing with someone are completely different. Does someone have to explain to you the difference of severity between the two?

Like Voodoo said, Get a sense of humor.

Tbh, when I got the mental image of the two equals fighting I didn't laugh, but when I thought of a pregnant woman getting a good beating, I lol'ed.
