Looks who's talking

Are some I just looked up that were left off. All classics imo
Look Who's talking just doesn't belong in the same lists as the Blues Brothers or Stripes. For Fuck Sake, trim the fat.

Also, much of the writing and acting talents today is pushed towards TV programming, which I do believe is leaps and bounds better than it has ever been.

Oh man.... triggered so hard.

TV sucks today man. Especially comedies. What show that's on the air right now is as good as Friends at its peak? Or Seinfeld? Or Scrubs? Frasier?

Most of whats on is reality TV now, with a few cheesy shows like Two Broke Girls and Big Bang Theory. Television is so weak right now.

Jeez bro. Some of the movies you listed I think sucked too. I was like 5 when I watched look who's talking and thought it was awesome so it has nostalgia for me.

you are right about comedies but not about TV in general.

Just messing with you. I was in High School when I saw it and thats just the wrong age.

See I think you have to stipulate whether you're talking about regular TV, or if you're talking about HBO, or if you're talking about Netflix because those are three very different things IMO.

When I say TV, I mean all 1h or less programming, be it HBO, Amazon, Netflix, or FX and AMC. The point is just that there is talent out there, doing great work, it's just shifted away from the types of comedies we have been discussing in this thread.

Yeah, but HBO/Amazon/Netflix are a whole other animal. The rules are different. They can pretty much do whatever they want, which is separate from what regular television can do. AMC and FX have made some pretty good shows though, as has USA. I enjoyed White Collar and Suits for the first few seasons.

Will Farrell is fucking hilarious. You guys are nuts. And there are a lot of great comedies today (no love for Judd Apatow?). To each their own, I suppose.

However, I am a child of the 80's and obviously there is a ton of great comedy that came from that era. A lot of great mentions in this thread. No need to re-hash. Here are some that I think were left out

48 Hours
Revenge of the Nerds
The Golden Child
Spaceballs
Summer School
Three O'Clock High
Night Shift

Nobody ever mentions the awesomely bizarre "Monty Python's: Meaning of Life"

I'm going to throw out Rosanne too...her and John Goodman were great..I think that was still the 80s

I actually find will Ferrell funny too.

Stepbrothers is comedy at it's best.

And I like Andy samberg and Aziz ansari.

It's not about whether or not he's funny. I think some of his movies are hilarious. It's the fact that Hollywood won't green light any comedy that doesn't have one of the top five or six names attached to it. Those guys are all aging, so who's going to take over and make comedies? They aren't developing any new talent.

I like Will Ferrell but when he's in the right role. When it's him playing a grown man who still acts like a teenager emotionally, it gets old. I loved him in Stranger Than Fiction. He really showed real range there. I want to see Aziz Ansari make a movie soon. He's my favorite comedian by far (along with Bill Burr.)

A LOOSE MEAT SANDWHICH. I had no idea why I watched that show, it was pretty horrible.

I think Roseanne was one of the best sitcoms of all time. The last few seasons weren't so good though.

Idk his role in Old School was fucking amazing.

Fuck! Men at Work came out in 1990.

I love all the movies everyone has listed. Here are some no one has mention that I remember fondly.

D.C. Cab - I had plastic Mr. T jewelery when I was in 4th grade
Cannonball Run - seemed to be on cable constantly when we first got it. I loved the Jackie Chan fight scene
Brewster's Millions, Stir Crazy, Bustin' Loose - I don't think one of you motherfuckers mentioned a Richard Pryor movie
Good Morning Vietnam - certainly funny, but probably more of a "dramedy"
Back to School - Triple Lindy bitches!
