I say we wait to see who's left out in the cold. I'd offer it all to Chauncey Billups, myself (2 year deal, second year not guaranteed), but I think he's going to OKC. Still, there's no way they'll offer him $4M, so he'd have to think about it. He would work well next to Lillard OR CJ.
 
Trade kicker (and cap hold removed) means we only have 3.5M and the 2.6M room exception left.
 
He was never a part of the cap number. He wasn't counted against a cap hold and he was never offered a contract. No change to cap number because of Withey being here or not.

I thought he counted as a roster spot hold?
 
nope, because he was a 2nd. Until he signed, he isn't a hold. Only 1st rounders are.

Can those be combined? $3.5 mil and $2.6 mil could bring in a couple of serviceable bench players (which might be all the Blazers need, anyway), but $6.1 mil could yield something more.

No because they are two separate things. The $2.5 mil min mle is by itself and can't be used in trades or space available.
