Or I pay attention instead of biasedly ignoring one side of the ball.
Where are your comments about Curry’s defense then? I might’ve missed them.

His defense hasn't been anywhere near as bad.Where are your comments about Curry’s defense then? I might’ve missed them.
Great post, but you lost me at "date with my wife" She's already yours bro, what's with the dates. You're making us look bad.So I missed last nights game, because I was out on a date with my wife.
Heres my take from the others. I dont like Curry and CJ on the court together unless they have a distributor and they’re playing off the ball.
That said I think Curry does look more prepared to get significant minutes than Baldwin, Simons or Trent Jr.
Stauskus / Layman looked better than I expected and I think they will see some bench minutes at the forward spots.
Nurkic is going to be an above average center for us and defensively his impact is great.
Swanigan Im not sure he’s ever going to play significant minutes, Zach well, I still see potential in him but he’s got a lot of developement to do.
Meyers can shoot we all knew this but his defense and rebounding makes him like almost unplayable and when he does play you notice right away how much of a hole is left in the paint
His defense hasn't been anywhere near as bad.
Career wise, Curry is slightly better. I can provide stats if you really want them. This preseason, he's been much, much better. Based off what? Based off the fact that I've paid attention to it...Based off what? Their careers or preseason?
If it’s preseason, Portland’s DRTG with Stauskas on the court has been 94. Hardly the liability you’re painting him to be. Has he gotten beat? Sure, but he’s also had guys make tough contested shots over him. He’s also made plays.
And if it’s career, the numbers are fairly comparable, as in neither is a good defender.
So who’s being biased?
I didnt think anyone outside of Nurkic looked all that great defensively. Even Zach was pretty meh.Career wise, Curry is slightly better. I can provide stats if you really want them. This preseason, he's been much, much better. Based off what? Based off trhe fact that I've paid attention to it...
We've played the Kings, Suns twice, and the Jazz... hardly teams that light it up. But you're gonna take the teams performance and make a mistake in extrapolating it to Stauskas overall defense.

Huh? He only scored 2 buckets a game. How many easy ones were there?
2 doesn't sound like much, but Davis was 5th-highest on the team in 2-pointers made.

HCP's wife has date nights too. Don't tell him, though.Married people have date nights. Thats part of how they stay married.

and 7th on the team overall in FG's made.
5 fgs more than Pat had, who was 8th
1) Stauskus needs a distributor or someone to create for him. He's okay at creating for himself but is much stronger as a spot up shooter. Philly didn't have a true PG or distributor like he'll have here. Guys who can get him the ball when they get doubled.
2) More so than anything else, he'll be in Stotts system.
2) While Stauskas isn't similar to Connaughton now, Stotts may make him into another Connaughton. Same for Curry vs. Napier. The new guys may be better upon arrival, but Stotts may dumb them down into the same roles as their predecessors.
The difference is that Connaughton couldn't create for himself, and Shabazz wasn't a reliable enough shooter.
1. Meyers might actually make it as a third center, but Collins is going to have to play behind Nurk, leaving IDK as backup at PF.
2. Layman should be able to get 18-20 minutes a night with around 10 points and a couple of threes. Which is good because who the fuck knows if Moe will ever be available.
3. Stauskus is a decent scorer and should be able to give us an approximation of what Pat did, if not the shooting Crabbe did.
4. Drafting Biggie was a huge mistake.
5. If Baldwin gets more than 6 minutes a game it will be luck.
6. Seth Curry IS the backup PG, but is going to have to up his assist rate.
7. Our best defensive lineup is Nurk at C and Collins at PF.
I am sure there is a lot more but I can't think of them right now.
One spot ahead of Kuzma and 4 ahead of Josh Hart. Why do Lakers find these gems.

Answer this then...Because they have better scouts.![]()

It’s why I liked the Simons pick. Lakers were going to take him.
But seriously, Olshey tends to play it safe, and that extends to the draft. The four year seniors. The tournament production, etc. I was pleasantly surprised when he took Simons, because it went against that philosophy. Take the upside. I think if you go back and listen to his comments after he selected Simons, you’ll hear him pretty much admit to making a mistake with Swanigan. “At that point in the draft you’re looking for the biggest upside.” That might not be verbatim what he said, but it’s close.
Because the draft is a complete crap shoot. One spot ahead of Kuzma and 4 ahead of Josh Hart. Why do Lakers find these gems.
That's a complete cop out.Because the draft is a complete crap shoot.
I’m sorry sir, but that is EXACTLY what it is.That's a complete cop out.
The draft is not some random game of chance.
Makes one wonder why teams spend so much time, money, and energy on college scouting if the draft is nothing more than random chance.I’m sorry sir, but that is EXACTLY what it is.
