The dude still is terrible at scoring but the guy has that hustle attitude. I loved his help and perimeter d. I wish the other players had that same motion on defense. If he could just know how to score more consistently.

I liked what I saw as well, he missed a few real easy ones and I think with more playin time he'll make most of those. I think he could develop into a solid bench rotation player

He shows decent quickness to the basket, but just does not finish. But he definitely did not looked "lost " out their. His BB IQ looks pretty good. There is hope....

Yeah it seemed more of a timing and rushing his shot issue. What I really love is his motor on the court. He really did a great job with those top of the key doubles. He just jumped right out there and was all over the guard.

Nice passer as well

Do we really have to say there's things we like about players the first time they do something half-way decent? It feels like patting a three year old on the head and then praising them for their green and yellow streaks of finger paint, nodding and saying, "why, yes it does look like a firetruck. Good job!"

with our bench? yeah I think it's relevant, Some of these guys like Claver have had so little playin time a night like last night gives you an opportunity to see some things - positive or negative

I like what I saw as well. That was his first really meaningful burn in the nba. I was suprised with his ball handling and ability to get to the basket. With more time he will start to finish

Do you come to spend time on a message board to NOT talk about the team?

I really hope Claver succeeds in the NBA and as a Blazer. He's a good dude!

Well you can get a feel from a player by the way his energy and drive translates on the court. And since our bench is considered one of the worst in the league; it's always a bright side when you see a player doing something a little better than suck.

Sour puss! :)

Since most posts seem to be about what players do poorly, I thought it was kind of refreshing to talk about what he seems to do well. In the process, it was also pointed out what he needs to do better. Like actually make the shot.

He's a project at this point. I don't mind talking about his strengths, weaknesses, and potential (or lack thereof).

Why green and yellow? Is this Ducks propaganda?

As I first noted in my prescient preseason discovery, Claver has amazing mobility (he can turn a corner on a dime), excellent dribbling, and good shooting. I annointed him and Hickson as my favorite players this season. I have repeatedly repeated this (links available upon request).

You Johnny-come-latelies, always in pursuit of my lead over your arcane analytic abilities, are welcome to follow; I am not arrogant about my superiority.

Thanks for your interest in my many talents. To maximize the suspense, I'll try to keep all you dorks satisfied by telling you a new one every day.

Sorry, turns out I won't have time for all the little people. My agent called.

You have an incredible mind.

How did you get so awesome?

nobody is allowed to talk about claver, if you do it means you are a bad parent or something, still trying to figure it out

Ah yes, a legend in his own mind, if it works for U then cool

Really liked what we saw from Claver in his first meaningful minutes. Should be good to see what he's capable of with a bit more adjusting to the NBA game.

He, and Hickson, are the two guys that just 'bring it' with effort and intensity. We need more guys like them.

I don't think you can judge Claver's offense off of one game. If that was the only time you ever saw Lillard play, what would you say about HIS offense?

he started

As I astutely said in preseason, Claver has the same talent as Batum did as a rookie. Claver is our next great SF. Bet your house on it and tell them I sent you.
