Cannot bring on a guy like king til you get rid of glass. and that is A LOT to give up for a guy like king. not for nothing the kings are not down and out, although it appears that way they still have pleny of points to get with roughly 30 games left.
secondly, lindberg is a RFA and i like him I believe he can make this team.
and not for nothing kreider time, you're talking about overpaying for king big time and including lindberg who is in your "all swede" line when discussing bringing on martin hanzel
Nashville's back-up goaler,Carter Hutton, made one of the most
unbelievable athletic moves to save the game against Toronto.
Probably the best save I have ever seen.
.......wow, Toronto has really fallen off this side of the earth in
getting back to playoff hockey.
I don't think it is outclassed, I think it is lack of depth. Our 4th line is a huge negative. Our 3rd line is like a 4th line. That's why we struggle against Boston and the Isles and TB...all teams with depth. I think that is more important than size for us. Must add a forward, especially because AV refuses to play Miller because of his mental mistakes, but -14 Glass never even a thought to scratch (-11 worse than any other player on the team).
BTW...1st goal is on AV also. We have the last change, but for some reason AV decided let me play my 4th line against their 1st line even with an O zone faceoff for us. Just dumb.
I think size is a need, but to me I think it still comes down to depth. You are not going through 4 rounds of playoffs with only your top 6 scoring, and that is what we are right now. That is the concern.
Next up for Rangers is game at Country Music Capital, Nashville.
Preds are 20- 2- 1 at home. Last time they lost in regulation was
sometime back in December against the Blackhawks. Pens were
the other team to beat the Predators in regulation.
Everything must click for Rangers to win Saturday afternoon.
Ducks gave them their 3rd reg loss at home, Thursday............
they'll be hungry Sat....for sure.
a. Andrew "Hamburglar" Hammond is one hot
goalie. 12 consecutive games not giving up more
than 2 goals per game. Ottawa leapfrogs Florida
and is a threat to Boston. Beats Canes in SO 2-1.
b. Buffalo beats Boston in SO at Boston. You think
Boston will need that extra point?
c. Blues shut out Flames who are in a fight
with the once 'done' Kings.
d. Isles pancake in Chicago. Lose 4-1.
e. Devils shut out Pens 2-0. Schneider excels in goal.
f. Jets and Wild win must games. Sharks fading...in loss to Jets.
Rangers lose.......... their scoring has disappeared.
Chicago played classic 'away' game. Score one goal
and check, check, check.
Ducks beat Kings in OT. Kings getting their points.
It's that time of year for them.....get into the
playoffs and win, win, win. Watch out for this
sleeping giant.
I'd love to play the Kings again. Means we are in the SCF.
I always love the overall tone on this board after we lose a game. Like it's all over and we are F'd. Again if we went 81-1 after that 1 L this board would flip out...LOL.
We played a nip and tuck close hard fought game and lost. Just like the game in Chicago except they scored the 1 this time. We played pretty well last night. Just couldn't bury one. It happens. Not the end of the world.
Get back on the right foot Saturday at Carolina and away we go.
Wish AV would have kept nash with brass and zucc and just put hayes with kreids and stepan. Think there is better chemistry there and kreids not looking to defer to nash all the time. Tough game where 1 mistake was going to be the difference which was made by either glass or fast(could have been either one) that let richards come out and have a cup of coffee in front of the net before he finally scored from in close. I thought cam was pretty close to spectacular and anyone who doesn't think he's bringing back a first round pick before the next draft just isnt paying attention.
Boyle dogged it coming back after once again failing to convert a layup (though I think Darling might have gotten a piece of his shot) so it's left to the -14 Tanner Glass to make a play. One thing I noticed is a few guys looked tired out there particularly Zuccarello.
Lets see what happens next game. Loses seem to annoy this club so I expect better in the next one. The bottom line is that on the offensive front guys needs to get it going. Step, Brassard and Kreider to name a few. Boyle has just been a massive failure who owes this club big time in the playoffs.
This Thursday it's on to 'Hamburglar Land
and Ottawa mania' Can Rangers burst that
bubble. Nah. They are having too much fun
up there in Canada's Capitol.
Those are your words..........not mine. Your
inferences are off the mark. I just think
momentum is in Ottawa's favor......they
smell a playoff birth. Rangers are there.
No big deal.
