I think "sh*thole" is non-PC-speak for "third-world, developing".

If you expect the President to be PC at this stage of the game, well, I don't know what to tell you.
If you want me to tell you that there are "third-world, developing" places around the world that I wouldn't want to go unless armed and with a few of my buddies, there are.
If you don't think that "third-world, developing" places around the world wouldn't stand to benefit if they were a lot more like the US (or further, the President's vision of the US) and a lot less like what they are, I'd submit you haven't been to many.

To answer the initial question, Helmand Province, AFG would currently be a sh*thole b/c of the Taliban. But I would love to be able to take my family back someday to visit--people were nice, landscape was interesting, there's some interesting (non-poppy-related) business prospects. I like many of the Caribbean islands I've been to (Puerto Rico, Jamaica, St. Lucia), but I don't like that they're almost completely service-based and without the infrastructure I'm used to. West Africa is nice enough, but if you don't think that Accra and Lagos are actual sh*tholes (including, literally, lakes and bays full of feces), you're naive. Guatemala was nice enough, but there was no way in 2001 that, say, a business run on Western principles would flourish there.

If you'd rather live in Yemen or Djibouti or South Sudan or Syria or El Salvador (or, frankly, Russia) than Singapore, Israel, Australia, Iceland....yeah, good luck with that. And if you wouldn't, I'd submit that you probably have better things to rail against the administration and gov't for that letting the PC police get you riled up.

This in good stuff. Don Lemon wants Trump supporters to go fuck themselves and Anderson Cooper has to fight back tears over this.

Hey Anderson, I see people living in tents in an empty lot every day you dumb fuck.

Since MLK day is coming up I thought I'd lay this down here for all you "good people" defending the racist in chief:

Missing the point here. The most egregious thing here isn't the language to describe these countries. It's that he apparently vehemently believes people from a white country are more preferable than non-white. That IS the definition of racism.

(And honestly, if I were in Norway, why would I leave a place with healthcare that is far more progressive to come to the shithole that America is becoming under Trump?)

Taxes.

Whoopdeedoo

I can pay taxes for my better infrastructure.

Ha! Says the man that has never paid 55% income tax and 25% VAT.
Well you could go try it rather than wishing all that burden on the rest of us.

The highest Income tax I ever paid was 78% State and Federal. I did not like it.

Mmmmmm. Why would stabile happy social medicine supported people from Norway want to come to this Political Shithole?

Well, it's more likely they don't wanna go to a country with this many Brown people.

Here is the world happiness rankings. See any pattern?

He most likely thinks Norway's women are hot.

Educated people of any country are preferred over third world countries. At least they should be.

Seems pretty clear to me that he's advancing the merit-based immigration mantra--granting immigration to people whose presence will be economically beneficial to the US. That is to say, he doesn't care if the prospective immigrants will benefit from coming to the US, only if the US will benefit from their immigration. According to what I read, he specifically mentioned several Asian countries as well, so it's apparently not only "white" countries that he respects.

Now, I certainly don't think it's accurate or reasonable to suggest that people from under-developed countries can't be value-adds to the US economy, and don't think it's very humane to dismiss prospective immigrants because they are coming from unpleasant situations, but I think it's important that if we are going to criticize the President's positions, we do so accurately and not based on sensationalization.

Land mass doesn't need to be filled just because we have it.

I have room for a whole family to live in my house with my wife and I. Who wants to move in with me?

I'll stay there the next time I go to Vegas.

I'd need to borrow a car to drive to the strip.

There's some other stuff in America that happened back then. Times change. You want to go back to that time Exactly?

When a company advertises job openings and fills them should they just hire more people because they needed some before?

When a movie theater is half empty with paying customers should they let in people for free to fill it up?

Oh by the way, you weren't happy with the black unemployment rate. Said it wasn't good enough. How many unskilled workers do you want to add to the competition?

Swimming pool? Turndown service? Will there be little chocolates on the pillows? What about breakfast? Included or extra?
No pool. Had one when we moved here. Got less and less use. Bought new house 2 years ago and it doesn't pay to put one in long term. We may downsize in a few years and a pool will be on the list.

The wife does all those things for me.... I'm lucky.
