Hey, that trade works in so many ways. Nets got a 2010 unprotected pick and the Mavs right now look like they are in disarray. Coach could get fired. Kidd may not get that extension he wants (and we know how he reacts to that). In any case, Kidd will be 37 in 2010, Dirk will be 32, and other than Josh Howard (who looks REAL bad), they are all going to be in their mid-thirties. That pick could be a lottery pick in 2010.
</div>

i would welcome jkidd back for the minimum to backup devin harris and the opportunity to throw vintage alley oops to lebron james and ride his coattails for a title in 2010-11...
</div>

id welcome him back but by then if we have lebron that means no carter or jefferson so therefore i want harris as the captain with a big C on his jersey. how sweet would that be? THE CAPTAIN DEVIN HARRIS. nd if he gets injured nd kidd is starting NUMBER 5 jason kidd.

Now you know how I feel.

I guess it's just human nature. It's all about "what you've done for me lately". I just find it disturbing how a lot of fans has forgotten what Jason Kidd did for this organization. All I here is how he quit on the team, how he whined and how much he wanted out of New Jersey. Honestly, a lot of fans in here are no different from school kids who look for sides to be in and bully whoever is in the midle. It's one thing to be upset about Kidd wanting out of the Nets. It's entirely a different matter when after over a month a lot of you are still whining and are actually hoping for Kidd to fail. Looking at every little detail, finding faults wherever you can. Move on. It's downright childish. Pathetic.

Did insider really just bring up evidence to support his point, and then discount it as being irrelevant one post later?

It takes more than a couple months. I would bet most people will be much more mellow with it next season. Kidd quit on the team to go to Dallas and win a championship so you have to give us at least one playoff series failure to be satisfied.

No one forgets what he did here. Would've been better if kept his mouth shut after the trade and didn't continue to bash the team and the fans. It's just that the wound is still fresh. He'll go down in history as one of the great Nets right alongside Dr. J.

I still think the Nets should retire his jersey. I'll probably go and cheer him.

But that doesn't mean that the way he acted over the last two years is acceptable and it certainly doesn't mean trading him wasn't the best thing to happen to the Nets since 2003.

Why not still be upset? We had a problem with Kidd this season. He bitched his way out of New Jersey this season. So why not still be pissed at him this season? It's not human nature, it's common sense.

Yeah, and you expect us to just forget all of the bad things he's done, and only focus on the good things, that happened years ago? Sorry, I don't live in la-la land.

Honestly, I think you're just a Kidd homer who's attempting to defend him but failing miserably. And it's downright childish that you're trying to look past all his (major) faults, because they've really negatively affected every fan of the Nets this season.

horrible, horrible thread. what about the constant BS? wanting to be traded and causing lockeroom problems everytime this team got into trouble? if he silently asked for a trade and still played then we wouldnt be so harsh BUT he PURPOSELY tried and poisoned the lockerroom, disrupt the team and sank games. **** him

they should and they will but remember his comments about not caring out the nets or NJ and wanting his jersey retired in dallas where he begun his career? how are we supposed to cheer a scumbag who doesn't want to be recognized for what he did in NJ

After the Nets use that second draft pick in a couple of years, I won't care what Kidd or dallas accomplish. For now, though, we have an interest in seeing that team in complete disarray.

Heat of the moment words in responce to Rod's post trade comments. Can't hate either of them long-term for what they said in the aftermath of that break up.

I mean, its only fitting that kidd gets his share of hate after faking a migraine, wanting out and bitching.

quote "it's only human nature".

Fans do remember what kidd has done for Jersey. To some extent to be fair, he did lead the team to the conference final etc.

But, that does not mean we have no right to bitch about THIS SEASON.

Where he led the team to nowhere and was just a scum.

Fans can praise kidd for the SEASONS which he led the team to the conference finals and played like a true leader.

Fans can also hate on kidd for THIS SEASON which he whined and bitched.

It is just perfectly natural that fans show what they feel about a player for how they played for the SEASON.

If Jason fans dont like the hating, then just dont come to the NETS board.

..at least we dont hate on kidd like toronto hates on carter. ... JK.

How do you know he didn't ask for a trade silently? That's why it became ugly. Thorn wouldn't grant Kidd his request which made Kidd go public about it. When Kidd denied asking for a trade, what was said? That he should just come out and say he wants out and stop lying. He tried to keep quiet, but a lot of you wouldn't hear of it. When he went public, you then crucify him for doing so. Admit it or not, that's the truth. Most of the post's from before are still here. Read it.

Hollinger: Kidd Trade “Did Mavs In”
April 25, 2008, 6:38 am In an analysis of why the Mavs and Suns are reeling, John Hollinger says the Jason Kidd trade has been devastating for Dallas. Beyond their dire situation in the playoffs, he adds, “Suddenly, the Mavs are an old team with a bad cap situation, limited depth, and no draft picks” thanks to the loss of Devin Harris, DeSagana Diop and two draft choices. It’s so bad, he writes, “their days as top contenders are coming to a close”. Sam Smith says there’s a “Cuban Fizzle Crisis” on the horizon.

Who cares? It's hilarious how we all defend the Nets when he talks about then in a negative way, but now all of a sudden he's right.

Don't be stupid.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (insider @ Apr 22 2008, 10:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>For the ungrateful ones. A reminder of what Kidd has brought to the city of New Jersey.

1. Two Eastern Conference Championships along with 2 NBA Finals appearances. The only 2 in their NBA tenure. What could have easily been 3 straight Finals appearances if it wasn't for Kidd's injury against Detroit.

2. Four Atlantic Division Titles. Again, the teams only four in their NBA history.

3. A record six straight playoff appearances.

4. He was the first Net to lead the league in assists and did it in 2 consecutive seasons.

5. Twice named All-NBA first team.

6. Three times named All-NBA second team.

7. Named All-NBA Defensive first team 2 times.

8. Named All-NBA Defensive second team 4 times.

9. Named an All-Star 4 times.

10. He leads the Nets in triple doubles with 60.

All of this and a lot more, he accomplished as a Net. With the way he has been treated and by the way a lot of you are saying, good riddance. Might as well not mention the Finals appearances and playoff appearances. Why? Because all of this was done with Mr. Prima Donna, cry baby, quitter, and yeah, Mr. Ason Ki. All of what the Nets has accomplished with Kidd is tainted. So the next time someone runs his mouth off on Jason Kidd and talk about the Nets, better not be mentioning all of the above. Hey, like a lot of you say, the Nets don't need him. To Nets fans who said their thank you's and made their tribute to Kidd, I'm sure Jason appreciates it. Because he loved New Jersey.</div>

And here i am thinking basketball is a team sport..? Thank you Mr Kidd for carrying us on your back for many years? Getda **** out.
I appreciate what hes done for the Nets, i really do. However, that does not mean ive forgotten what a big dick hes been since 06. And this past season he did not act like the "leader" he was suppoused to be. Not only that but he bashes us the fans in NJ, and then bashes our organization? But hey we have no right to be mad at him or bitch at hiM? Puuleassss little kidd go do your homework before you say anything else.

you know what, **** jason kidd. im glad to see him fail in dallas honestly.
