What made Drazen Petrovic groundbreaking and unforgettable

Spent a lot of time watching basketball in Europe in the 80s. Hated him. He was very very good.

Goran Ivanisevic was his best friend...wore his Nets jersey after winning Wimbledon in respect to him....

I remember running around the gym for warm-ups in PE class in elementary school asking my buddy if he had heard the news that Drazen died. For some reason, I can remember that moment very clearly.

"Portland traded him in January 1991 to New Jersey in a three-team deal for Walter Davis -- who was then 36. (Ainge was, and remains, aghast at the trade. "We all knew Drazen was a great player," he says.)"

I remember hating that trade at the time.
I was super bummed that we traded Drazen.

Making matters worse, Davis was a Blazers killer when he played for Phoenix, but once we got him he was trash. So I guess he was still a Blazers killer.
