Looking out for my well-being. In this time of rampant political infighting, we need to protect our most vulnerable residents.

Cocaine is a gateway drug for dogs. Take a little pre-race there, a little there, pretty soon you have the whole Barry Bonds BALCO line sitting there in your kennel. Thank you, State Senator Young, for bringing this petition to my attention.

I know that somehow, some way, Sly's behind all of this. Merry-Jay isn't enough for some...

State governments are encouraging their own demise by trying to legislate away the very freedoms our country is based on.

A Federal takeover of CA is a very real and legal possibility.

If the founding fathers didn't want us to give cocaine to dogs, they would have put it in the constitution!

A Federal takeover of CA is a very real and legal possibility.

How would that be legal? Could you point to the relevant clause in the constitution?

The Tenth Amendment helps to define the concept of federalism, the relationship between Federal and state governments.

Amendment X
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

I'm not following you - how does that justify a federal takeover of California? It seems, if anything, it would prohibit it.

The Civil War is a precedent.

No need. The state already has authority to regulate what ever you do with dogs via the Constitution in the 10th amendment.

Only if CA secedes, which hasn't happened so far as I know.

I am not sure what it means, but there are parts of CA that no longer use English. Forget about the official language.

Ha! The young fellow that helped me a lowe's yesterday spoke English like his home language. So I asked him about the Spanish only signs in the aisles of the store. He laughed, said yeah it makes it hard for some of us too.

They've spoken chinese in Chinatown in NYC for a century, if not longer.

Similarly, the Pennsylvania Dutch speak German.

House divided cannot stand.
Countries splinter all the time....Bavaria....USSR....China/Taiwan....Korea...last I looked, Germany, N Korea, Taiwan were still standing...sometimes countries that are too large are disconnected from the further regions...I don't see this happening in California but not because it couldn't happen....S Cal is very republican....Hawaii has always had a large contingency of the population who would like independence from the mainland

Just wow.

Just wow.
They do.....as I said....I don't think it happens but there are groups lobbying for it currently..Calexit...you act like because of the Civil War we would never change our current status......actually we've changed it quite a bit from the original 13 states and people act like we're not a young country.....China has morphed for 15 thousand years changing capitals and borders....

wow.....sure currently...long term..everything can change

I have little doubt if California (or Texas) tried to secede, the feds would use force to prevent it.

If California votes to split into multiple states, it'd go through proper process and likely be allowed.

Normally, yes. This administration might just say 'Bye CA. don't let the door hit you on the way out'. Because electoral college.

I don't think so.

Because, GDP.

Plus I think Trump has a big enough ego that he thinks he can win California if he bothered to campaign there.

spoken Chinese in Chinatown

San Francisco too.
But not the same. Three stores here, Lowe's, Home Deport, and Harbor Freight, each in a different section of the city.
Not speaking only Spanish. Only posting signs in only Spanish. The labels on the aisles in the various sections of the store.

Nothing like a China Town. Perhaps it is like the Dutch in Penn, they do want to keep it stuck in their time and difficult for anyone else.
Harbor freight was a little different. It had Spanish on the front of the sign or posting and English on the backside. Not very helpful at all.
When walking down the rows of aisles, looking for a section of stuff, you needed to walk into each aisle to read the English, then back out again to continue on to the next aisle. That was the first store I went to, which brought out my first WTF? But it was better than no English at all until I discovered that I could read a little Spanish better than I thought.

Yeah, I think he may. I also think he can win too. The Mexican population is much more conservative than the Democrats think.

It's more conservative than Republicans think, too.

I have no clue why Republicans want to run them off, away from voting Republican.

Because Republicans are racist idiots.

Oops, did I say that out loud?
