I mean you still havent even been able to tell me what God is, you've just alluded it. If you know so much, why cant you tell me what God is? Because you dont know. No one knows, you're worshipping somthing that you dont understand, that doesnt even exist.

You know what you are the dumb one who expects to go to heaven after disrespecting god and his book. If i were you..I'd go to the library and grab an English Quran. You are asking me how do i know what is going to happen when the world ends. and ur also asking me how do i know how the world is gonna end. I know ur athiest and dont know any knowledge about religions. You know what? It says everything about how ur gonna die and how the world is gonna end in THE QURAN! I know that because i read it! I know what god is.. God is a soul. He created everything we have right now.. From humans to grass to everything! I do know what i worship. And you dont worship anything thinking you are gonna go to heaven disrepcting god and his book..

The after life is something none of us can comprehend so I can't really comment on that. I believe in karma so thus, what you do in thisn life will affect your next life. Your deeds in this life (say that of a law abiding citizen) means that you will return as a human in your next life as well. However, you may not believe that, but that's okay....none of us can comprehend as to what death equates to.

Curiously, what do YOU (NTC) believe happens when we die? As in, when you're in the closing moments of your life and your eyes close, what do you think happens?

If there is no reasoning behind lives, people such as Hitler, prophets such as Muhammad (and it has been proven he existed I believe), and even to a lesser extent, atheletes such as Lebron James would not have come into fruition and became what they became. If you are destined, you shall be. Hitler grew up under just the kinds of conditions and went threw just the kinds of things in his life growing up that it influenced him into being such a leader to the point that the world itself would change. We aren't born to do absolutely nothing. We can choose not to but life is what you maKE of it.

I understand what God is, I just can't prove God exists. It's a matter of perspective and fatih. I worship somehting I have faith in.

Bolded part, I agree with, thats my basic thought on religion. Basically a "fear eraser", trying to make people think that if they dont do certain things the right way or what ever, they will go to heaven, or go to hell.

I know what you're saying with the second part, but if everyone is worshipping a different god, who is right? No one is right. Well in that case, how can God be anything, if no ones opinion of God is right?

1. To be honest, no, we didnt learn anything. Ok we havent seen such bloodshed since then, but we're even more viscious, more blood thirsty than ever.

I wouldnt have a clue what happens when we die, I have never done it, so I dont know. Untill I do, I dont know. I think the most logical reason I believe about death is thats it, you just die and thats it, game over.

Guys like LeBron James became what they did, because they wanted to. As you said, life is what you make of it. If I want to be a doctor, I can go and study to become one, I'm not born destined to be a doctor.

I know I didnt reply to some of the stuff you said, but I'd be here for another hour if I did, lol. The stuff I didnt reply to, I feel I didnt have to, as your posts have come across not so much as debatable, but more as speaking your mind, if that makes sense, lol. Think I need to take a break, all this thinking and writing is doing my head in.
 
As Junoon said.. People cant prove that god exists. You have to have faith in him to believe that he exists. I have faith in him which is why i believe in him and which is why i worship him. I just cant be like..I saw God at the store to make you believe he exists. Proving that god exists is impossible. If you want me to tell you how there is god..i cant..because its impossible.. but i can tell you one thing..i have faith in god which is why i worship him and which is why i believe in him. i believe in everything about god. so do i still have to prove to you if god exists or not? the best i can do is tell you that i have full faith in him. i know there is a god because i have faith in him.
 
Well lets just agree to disagree then. As I said, I never expected my views to change yours, the wonderful thing about this world is we have the freedom to do almost what ever we like, so if you want to believe that, even though I personally think its rubbish, I'm not going to hold it against you.

I was an atheist, and am now a weak-faith Christian. (I'm trying, but I struggle at times (I need to rely on God more))

I've read the Bible, the Quran, the majority of the Rig Veda, and other short religious texts (Dammapada, Tao Te Ching, some of Vinaya Pittaka(mainly the 227 rules for monks(Bikkhus))), and just read up on other religions (Jainism, Parsis, Shinto, etc.)

At this point the bible seems to be the truth to me.

its a cultural truth, i believe there are few universal truths and yes there is a difference.
 
Whether you believe in religion or not you can't ignore the fact that religion teachs morals and guidelines to humans. It's why I think most have lasted as long as they did.

But nonetheless, I don't believe in god nor do I associate myself with any religion. Maybe we really did evolve from cells, maybe science truly is the answer to everything. I don't know, niether do you so don't press your beliefs on me.

What do I believe happens when we die? Well I've always loved science and if energy cannot be created nor destroyed who is to say we truly, die? Energy takes different forms, so maybe we become ghosts after we die?

Sounds stupid but logical that our energies in our bodies change form and go elsewhere, no?

You can't convert to agnostic. People who are agnostic believe that there is something but don't belong to a certain faith.

Paul of Tarsus, Luke, Simon Peter, James the half-brother of Jesus, Jude the half-brother of Jesus, Matthew, John the apostle, Mark.

Unless you wanted Old Testament authors, Isaiah, David, Daniel, Jeremiah, Zacharias, Jonah, Amos, Ezekiel, etc.

Exactly. Most cavemen probably never saw anyone from another ethnic group.
 
The point I was trying to make is that it's simplistic to say that religion has been the source of these things. War, racism, hate, etc. are all values that were at one point advocated by the major religions. I will acknowledge that. But, we're here 2-3 centuries after the political/social influence of those religions has diminished significantly, and we still see these values being espoused. The overriding similarity between all of these situations, is that power leads people/societies to call for these things.
 
Well I won't turn this into why I'm not Muslim anymore, but I will say this....I respect anyone's beliefs whether they're Muslim, Christian, Atheist, Agnostic, etc........I like a lot of things about Christianity and Islam I just don't neccessarily believe in having any sort of religious affiliation.

Tell that to suicide bombers, plane hijackers and people calling for fatwahs (sorry to call out muslims, just as an example).

Tell me, if there was no religion, would you have muslims killing themselves in the name of Allah believing they would be going to heaven with how ever many virgins they believe?

Would you still have prehistoric ways in some middle eastern countries where the woman has to wear the full body covering and walk a certain distance behind her husband? Or people still stoned to death?

Religion is not all that dimished in some places.
