I'm a poetry fan though.....I've played in a band that backed up some great beat poets back in the day....much better to my ear than the robotic soundtracks they use in this form....my appreciation of the form is the organic content...the lyrics and msg
Beethoven's Ninth symphony, fourth movement is based on a beautiful poem by Schiller, Ode to Joy. This may be the best classical work ever.

Beethoven, by the way, was originally a great fan of Napoleon. He later grew unhappy with Napolean's lust for glory and even renamed a symphony that he was planning on dedicating to Napoleon.

Who owns BET? :dunno:

FUCK VIAACOM...

Who's signing these MFs...?

Besides his manager in the front row, who is in this audition clapping at this coonery?

Only white people can save Hip-Hop!!

Fortunately guys like Kendrick lamar and j cole are hugely popular. Unfortunate thing is I don’t think people who listen to them listen to the message. Conscious rap just isn’t cool to a lot of young people. Mumble rap as it’s called such as migos and these other guys is the cool thing when really the lyrics are just generic nonsense as well as the beats. I wish that shit wasn’t cool but it is. A lot of good underground conscious rap out there but they don’t get any play so they aren’t popular.

Roots are holdin' it down still. They're on tour right now. I saw @HailBlazers at the show at the Zoo. It was packed!

Not sure if you saw this but.....

This is the only Hip-Hop song I know.

One of my heroes when I was a kid.

I also worshipped, Hoppalong Cassidy, The Lone Ranger, Superman, Roy Rogers, Sky King, Captain Midnight, The Cisco Kid, Matt Dillon, Howdy Doody, Boston Blackie, Tarzan (Johnny Weismueller) and Flash Gordon.
