+> Theres a reason why your the world wide leader of forumism. I actually saw her in the 1970 blues bag 2 concert in Philly featuring the Allman Bros with Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. As I understand it was the very begining of her tour carreer. I was 17 and man those years were really special. Concerts in those days were under $10. I think Bonnie acquired "that" following when social media was born. By the way, check out her work with Little Feat with Lowell George (another great band)
I remember those days well since I moved here north of L.A. in 1970. I'm thrilled you mentioned Little Feat as well. I had all their LP's, and am a Fan of Ry Cooder and Valerie Carter too, as you know, Valerie as Lowell's backup Angel, and Cooder helping out Lowell on their 1st LP. Lowell and Raitt made magic together. It was a sad day here when Lowell passed away too young.
Recall Lowell first played with Zappa's Mother's of Invention, and Cooder on Captain Beefhearts (Don Van Vliet) Magic Band. Both Lowell and Cooder moved on of course. Beefheart and Zappa met and both went to my Alma Mater a decade before I did. Zappa moved on, Beefheart remained in this Desert, a regular customer in the middle of the night at a Denny's I worked at. Got to know Don fairly easily, tho' he was extremely picky when choosing to befriend a person. In my case, I had numerous experiences meeting Don at a Bar or 2, and driving him home. One of the highlights of my life, as much as cooking Zappa a blood rare steak, when they were both up here looking for a spot to shoot the cover photo of Bongo Fury.
Overall, I was over whelmed with many great musicians locally here in the 70s, and worshiped older local bands like Buffalo Springfield, The Byrds, Poco, Ricky Nelson once he had the Stone Canyon Band, and re=invented himself easily, et al.
Several Musicians I've met, to name a few, Gram Parsons at Clarence White's Funeral, burial here in town, again at the Palomino Club. B/T, the Whisky A-Go Go, The Troubador, The Roxy, Golden Bear, it was easy to interact with up and coming Musicians, who it was very clear were going to create their own page in R&R History.
Others I've seen and met, in their earliest of years, in L.A. Nightclubs, were Jackson Browne, Bernie Leadon, Chris Hillman, Emmylous Harris, the most Angelic of persons on Earth Emmy was, who was the easiest to chat with, or was it due to seeing her 8 times in the 70s alone, or the one and only kid in a small crowd, wearing a Stetson 5X, a Nudies Rodeo Jacket, and Silk Shirt, torn Levis, and as good of Dan Posts Roper boots as I could find. I met her 1st when she picked a sweepstakes winner for Her Luxury Liner tour. 1st with GP, then with her Hotband. I got to shake hands and chat with Ry Cooder, Rick Danko, Phil Everly, Ronnie Wood, and Linda Rondstadt, a true Queen in those days. I could go on forever, with music, ......and don't know where to stop at times, the 100+ concerts, Night Clubs, I've been to, by the age of 22, are too endless to mention most....

One of the benefits of living near the heart of formalism or fourmism, and being a young man, who wandered from club to club, show to show from 70 on....
