He led the country in 3pt shooting at Michigan...quick release...also can work the pick and roll and finish...Stotts will love this guy's shootingNik is a baller. I watch him several times while at UM, he's a scrapper and I think fans will warm up to him because of that. Plus he's not knock down shooter.
Actually the warriors really don’t do that, they usually put 3 really good 3 point shooters and then a couple guys who “can” shoot but are mainly defenders and facilitators.Warriors put 5 3pt shooters on the court most of the time...I think that's the big picture for us this season...out shoot the Warriors
?? Curry, Klay, Draymond, Durant, Boogie, Iggy, all 3 pt shooters....not sure your point...only Mcghee and the Turk were not deep shooters...their small ball lineup can hit the 3 from all over the courtActually the warriors really don’t do that, they usually put 3 really good 3 point shooters and then a couple guys who “can” shoot but are mainly defenders and facilitators.
But most of there really effective lineups include guys like Draymond or Iggy whose main purpose of being on the floor is to keep the ball moving and to play defense.
Draymond is a career 32% 3 poin?? Curry, Klay, Draymond, Durant, Boogie, Iggy, all 3 pt shooters....not sure your point...only Mcghee and the Turk were not deep shooters...their small ball lineup can hit the 3 from all over the court
They make a ton of 3s....by committee...they pass the ball really well but they knock em down all over the place....make team's pay for leaving a guy open in the corner all the time. Something we lacked last season...it's not the percentage...it's that they make them when they need them....they hit buzzer beaters....I think we could be a better 3 pt shooting team than them....especially our benchDraymond is a career 32% 3 poin
t shoot and last year shot 30%. Iggy short 28% from 3 last year.
They added boogie this season and he is a 35% shooter which is good, decent not great.
My point is the idea that GS just stick a bunch of 3 point shooters out there and score isn’t really accurate. Outside of KD who can be a ball stopper, that team is successful because they move so well without the ball and they always have a guy sometimes 2 whose jobs is to facilitate and yes they have the green light to shoot, but it’s omly real purpose is to keep the defense honest.
Fair enough, I guess what’s i was getting at was that’s I feel like the Blazers could really use a guy like Nurk to facilitate better - they might have to encourage him to take that 15-18 foot jump shot a bit more though. I am a big proponent for passing the ball and players actually moving. I hate the contract but I believe they wanted ET to fill that role, it’s just not really what he’s good at. GS when they go on those game changing runs it’s almost always ball movement, player movement, good shots as a result. They make a ton of 3s....by committee...they pass the ball really well but they knock em down all over the place....make team's pay for leaving a guy open in the corner all the time. By the end of the season, Nik Stauskas will be the starting SF. Book it.
well....there's a lot of things I'd like to be but can't but hey....I'm happy.....also, Kingspeed is a great forum member...glad to have him as a tag in a reply to my posts...he's a die hard fan...one day I'll go to a game with him. To my point, we've never had a roster with as many 3 pt shooters as we have this season..myself...I like it.You can be whatever you want. So can I.
I'm thinking we are going to run more this year.well....there's a lot of things I'd like to be but can't but hey....I'm happy.....also, Kingspeed is a great forum member...glad to have him as a tag in a reply to my posts...he's a die hard fan...one day I'll go to a game with him. Did Terry get fired?I'm thinking we are going to run more this year.

Harkness isn't any better than Aminu. Your theory doesn't hold much weightHere's the thing about Aminu playing the 3.
Terry likes a ballhandler there. Aminu ain't it nor should be be.

Terry and me both. It is essential that we have a 3rd ball handler. It is never more apparent as in the playoffs when other teams turn up the intensity on D.
I don’t think it has to be a “ball handler” as much as it needs to be someone who can pass and facilitate. ET isn’t good at that, Moe, Aminu, etc they’re “passing” is more or less please get the ball out of my hands.Terry and me both. It is essential that we have a 3rd ball handler. I think with some coaching, Zach or Nurk could do some of that. The Blazers to me really lack guys who are comfortable setting up the offense and having things run through them. It’s basically Dame do all the scoring and all the setting up of team mates. Maybe CJ can grow in that regard but he has proven mainly to be looking for his shot when he gets the ball.
I might be an idiot here but I think so much of what made GS work (at least before KD) was how much of the offense they could run through Draymond (and he isn’t a good ball handler).

I’d say he was an adequate ball handler for his size... I can think of many better, but they didn’t use him to make dribble moves they used him at the top of the key where he could either make a dribble or two and be at the basket or he could set up his team mates.Draymond played the 4 (and at times the 5) before Durant got there. For those two positions he is/was an extremely good ball handler.
They would have 4-5 guys in at once who could dribble. I will be happy with just 3 in the game at the same time.
He is clutch when he does...seen it game after game. As I mentioned...the stats aren't JJ Reddick or Mark Price but they make them when it counts all the time..it's the ball movement and that they trust each other when it counts...I give them credit for that...Iggy has shown the same...especially in the playoffs and in tight games...they're a confident team ….it's why I think we loaded the roster with shooters this time around. The Warriors shooters are the opposite of Russell Westbrook.....he shoots them all game and bricks them in the 4th qtr...GS makes them in the 4th qtrThe Donkey is capable of hitting threes, but a three point shooter he is not.

I don’t think Aminu should be allowed to dribble. Every time he dribbles I cringe a bit...Right but remember they also had 3 other guys in the game with him who were even better ball handlers. So as your 4th or 5th ball handler it worked pretty well.
Aminu is also adequate as your 4th or 5th ball handler, but not the 3rd. The issue is our other options either can't shoot or are too small. We still need someone to emerge at SF.
