A really good friend of mine is marrying a horrid, awful, life-sucking bitch on Friday. It just so happens that the nuptials will be occurring 30 minutes before the start of the Arizona/UO game.

My friend knows how I feel about his soon-to-be wife. I'm pretty sure that's why I wasn't included in the wedding party, and didn't even find out about their engagement until roughly a month after he proposed.

I'm trying to decide if I want to skip the reception and watch the game, or if I want to record the game and suffer through four or five hours of watching one of my best friends ruin his life...
 
You'll be seeing a lot less of him after he is married, since his wife probably hates you, so you may as well start cutting the cord right now and watch the Ducks! You could even text him updates of the game, assuming he is a Duck fan as well.

Then, after his inevitable divorce, you'll still be there as a buddy. Bros before hos! :)
 
Didn't you just say he's a "really good friend"?

This is about him and not you. Tivo the first half of the game and congratulate him by joining him for an hour of festivities.

Really good friends are few and far between. Act like one in return, amigo.
 
Go to the wedding. It's all about priorities.

If he's a good friend, you should at least be there for about an hour of the reception. It's for him, not the bitch. Just DVR the game if you can and play catch up when you get home.
 
your life should trump your vicarious life even when it's not something you particularly endorse. Go to the wedding and don't look at your watch once... be a good friend. I'd imagine that there will be lots of others in attendance very concerned about the game results and you'll find out about them in mass. You can watch the actual happenings later... but be there for the real moments.

just count yourself lucky the wedding isn't 8 days later

I just hate when people schedule weddings the day after (or on) major holidays. My fiance's cousin got married the day after Christmas last year. I just think it's very selfish.
 
So when Oregon beat USC on harpers interception in 07 I was at my best friends wedding and I missed he 4th quarter. It was in A hotel and I could hear the roars in the lounge as the pick happened :( anyhoo he found out about Two months ago she has been cheating on him for about a year and they probably are getting a divorce. I missed the game for something that didn't even last dammit. Moral of he story... Pick the ducks

Go to the reception, get one of the bride's best friends nice and drunk. Take her back to your place and do her in front of the TV while watching the 2nd half of the game.

This is a guy who I have been friends with since the first grade. We've been close friends for years. We lived together for a while. I always considered him one of my best friends and it bothered me that I wasn't part of the wedding party, but I had no idea how many groomsmen he was going to have.

He had NINE FUCKING GROOMSMEN. NINE! He had nine groomsmen and the bride only had five bridesmaids. Apparently I'm not even in the top ten friends. Seriously fucked up. Eat a dick.

You should have gone to the reception, gotten really drunk and puked on the bride.
