No way Dallas is giving up on Barnes unless they get a smokin deal.
Huh, funny... no way Milwuakee is giving up Giannis unless... he retires.

Giannis is perhaps the most untouchable guy in the league.
It has all the makings for a homecoming story.I think Love can be had for less. Maybe this summer after Lebron leaves and they want to go young
DET Gets: CJ McCollum
NOP Gets: Jusuf Nurkic, Moe Harkless, Noah Vonleh, 2018 DET 1st, 2018, 2020, & 2022 POR 1sts
POR Gets: Anthony Davis, Avery Bradley, Tobias Harris
Lillard / Napier
Bradley / Connaughton
Harris / Turner
A.Davis / Aminu
E.Davis / Collins
Would pave the way for Collins to become a starter.
NOP would then trade Cousins to CLE for their BKN 1st and 2022 1st and have the following picks:
2018: NOP, BKN, DET, POR
2019: NOP
2020: NOP, POR
2021: NOP
2022: NOP, POR, CLE
Things we must do before trading CJ or Lillard:
-Replace Stotts.
-Replace coaching staff (what is a big man coach? baby don't hurt me...).
-Keep replacing those placeholder players which surround CJ and Lillard.
I don't see the point of ruining our only relative advantage over most of the league before we try to do other solid, more reversible moves.
Why, we'd get one of the best interior defenders in the league, who is a great finisher inside. We start Turner at SG who is a better defender than Dame, maybe even Pat C.
Defense is exactly where I'm comparing them.....none of the four really play any. And as for Ellis being a "me-first" player, I don't disagree with that at all and yet his assist numbers are almost double CJ's. I played with a guy like CJ and after a while it got old watching him dribble, over dribble, go 1-on-2 and after not passing for an eternity, finally jacking up a tough shot which he (like CJ) would make as often as he missed. He was the best scorer on our team and yet we never won anything with him and won multiple titles after he was gone. There was just growing frustration as teammates would stand around waiting for him to do his thing knowing he wouldn't pass and we were there just to set screens and run back on defense.
I see quite a bit of that in CJ. INCREDIBLE scorer but it doesn't surprise me that outside of a hot stretch when Nurkic went nuts last year, this team led by Dame/CJ just isn't very good.
Jabari Parker is 22 yo and already had two major (ACL) injuries and hes likely to demand max contract, so theres enough reasons not to want him... as far as Middleton, hes good player who should be 3rd option on a good team (I dont know if hes 2nd or 3rd option at MIL), and I certainly dont want him to be 2nd option on our team, hes not that good and Nurk is not there yet... even if Nurk could be 2nd option right now, wed be better with CJ than Middleton, thats not even debatableWhy? Parker was good offensively when he played. Middleton is a very good shooting guard who can also play small forward and plays defense.
That is 100% false.CJ is a better defender at PG than Dame. Dame is the PG, though, and for good reason. Asking CJ to be a good defender against bigger SGs is a tough assignment.
Good argument.
and you're a Nazi.
He's making the same salary as CJ. Averaged 19 points per 36 last year at 56%. He's one of the best defensive players in the league while CJ is one of the worst. And whoever replaces CJ will be a better defender. Though if Nurk comes around, we should keep him.Yeah, We'd also pay way too much for him and lose a lot of offense.

LOL. No I'm not.
I don't need to argue something so ridiculous.Good argument.
Stats don't really back up what you're sayingThis year, CJ seems to be having a hard time getting his shot off. He's getting blocked so much. He looks smaller and less athletic than everyone he goes against....I don't know if he just hasn't found his "groove" or if people are learning to defend him, not buy his fakes or whatever. But his passing hasn't been good and he's been losing the ball a lot. And we all know his defense is terrible. We need to cash him in for something. This duo of 1 on 1 players isn't working.
Because they can pay him the most and likely resign him, and Cousins is the type of big man you need to beat GSW, and he could help Lebron stay, and he's the best available star for that BKN pick (which I think they'll try to trade)Why would Cleveland trade a top 5 pick and another 1st rounder for a player months away from being a UFA?

So for every turnover he's getting more assists this year than last year. He's also shooting a great 3pt percentage. He's forced some mid-range shots and isn't really getting the space he did last year, but that's the only part of his offensive game that's really suffering. I realized my opinion (and likely yours) changed this season because of how silly/crucial some of his turnovers are, so they stand out more. That's just not the case. His defense (while still bad) seems to have slightly improved. If he starts hitting mid-range shots like he normally does, he'll be much improved over last year.

Dame has been a good defender this year, guarding PGs. You're saying CJ is better than good at guarding PGs??
CJ doesn't have the lateral quickness Dame does, but not only that, he falls asleep off the ball all the time, and is awful at closing out, which are awful traits while guarding SGs. He gives up dribble penetration all the time, which is an awful trait to have while guarding PGs.
CJ is equally as horrible guarding both positions.
With how many different topics you brought up.
I see no reason why I should take this post seriously.
Based on what?Yes. CJ has been better (than Dame) at guarding PGs all along. He's just not been guarding them when Dame is in the game.
