What veteran Center can we bring that protects the rim?

True, but i ignore age when you can still play. Plumdog's game has gone south. What game he had that is.
How has Plumlee's game "gone south?"

I suppose you don't know he shot 68 percent from the field last season, which is a career high. His Per 36 PTS were also a career high, along with his 4 offensive rebounds Per 36.

Below is Plumlee's last game played. These numbers were achieved in 24 minutes of playing time. Made KD and Ayton look like ragdolls under the hoop.
He actually shoved Ayton out of the way on a Clipper free-throw, grabbed the board, got fouled and put it in (1:07 in this video).

If Ibou Badji's knee is good after his surgery he could be the guy, he was playin well in Gleague last yr and then hurt his knee when the Blazers got him (another big - the curse). 7' 1 inch with 7'8" wingspan, . good rebounder and shot blocker. However Blazers would need to extend him a QO and haven't seen that happen yet

Although we haven't seen news on it, I'm sure Blazers extended the QO to him. It only costs $50k and a new 2-way contract.

Yeah I want Plums.

RoLo for man-size screens and bodying up / Jock Landale (PHX, RFA) for good speed up and down the court, bigger than Eubanks.

To address the thread and not just joke, I'd love to see us try and pry Jalen Duren from Detroit. Probably would need a 3rd team involved.
The time to pry him was last summer when he was traded for the Grant package. That ship has sailed.

Scrub, I don't want him if we win now or rebuild. Vulcans probably don't want him as undrafted player is cheaper.

Even if we rebuild I want to get 3-4 vets so the young guys see how to be a professional. They just need to be mediocre bench players. I don't want a 6ers process roster with zero vet leadership. Now if we try to win with Dame we need to fill those end of bench spots with vets that have a skill.

I thought it's over a million QO? If it's only a two way spot and we have nothing better that's fine.

How about Jeremy Grant in a sign and trade?

I would guess that Grant would laugh if we suggested a return to Detroit.

What are you basing this on? I don't necessarily doubt it, but he is only 20. No chance for him to improve? I am anxious to see him in the summer league to see how he has progressed. But even that may be too soon to judge him. I just don't think we have enough to go on yet to list him as a scrub. He at least has the physical/athletic tools to develop further.

Detroit has a handful of young bigs that need time on the floor (Duren, Wiseman, Bagley). What do you all think of a trade that brings Stewart and Bogdanovic to Portland for Simons + Little + (?). What else does that need to balance? Picks? A guard trio of Ivey, Cunningham, and Simons would be great for them.

We’d getting a great veteran scoring SF and a solid backup center, and clear out our guard log jam.

would you trade Simons straight up for Zach? SA has the cap space for an unbalanced trade

Hmmm. I think id have to ask for a couple of future picks. At least one.
Not sure they would do that with their rebuild youth movement.

Edit: After exploring other options and finding nothing, i might do it without a pick if they recused to give up a pick.
Balancing the roster has value as well.

You show 1 freakin' game. I saw him play multiple times last season and he's mediocre. Eubanks is better than him. You can flaunt stats all you want. Pass.

I wouldn't. A Simons trade needs to get the Blazers a starting forward so Lillard is happy to stay here. If not then it appears we are headed to a Dame trade.

If there is a Dame trade I'm keeping Simons unless we get a player with more potential or a future pick. Zach provides neither.

here's a thought, trade Simons to Utah for John Collins, would Utah want Simons? Contracts are basically equal

Yeah the Grant thing was more of a joke as we traded the Duren assets for him.

I'd flip it around and say what about Badji makes you think he has any sort of potential beyond a scrub? There's hundreds of players that are young and have physical or athletic tools that are similar. Nearly all of the good ones are under contract.

Collins and Markkanen are an odd fit so it would seem like Simons gives them better roster balance. Although if they keep Sexton and Clarkson maybe there is an argument against that.

I think if we gave Ainge a pick he'd do that deal, but I don't think he would want to do a trade if there wasn't an asset coming back. I don't think he cares at all about roster balance right now. I guess if he is very high on Ant its possible they do that straight up, it's hard to know with those rumors that no teams in the league are interested in Ant.

Yes, the good ones are under contract. No there are not hundreds of young players with a 7'8 wingspan and 9'10 standing reach who are mobile. He could be a scrub, but until we actually see him play, I am not convinced he is one.

Especially with the upcoming Scoot vs Wembanyama rematches. I'm looking forward to those!
