What was that Pat Bev? What were you saying?

I love all the internet board police on here giving a medical diagnosis with no knowledge of the situation.

Beverly consulted with James Andrews which lead him to the decision to not have surgery and continue to play. Nobody here has any sort of an idea if playing on his knee has a heightened risk of further injury.

Roy had half a dozen surgeries on his knees over many years; he played on it one week after surgery. In the end he had no meniscus remaining in either knee. He ignored doctors recommendations and minute restrictions. That is a totally different situation.

Our history with injuries has certified us all as experts on the meniscus.

Beverly reportedly couldn't walk after the game, and James Andrews is the guy who said RGIII couldn't get hurt any worse in the 2012 playoffs, so he cleared RGIII to play. Look at how that advice worked out for the Redskins after his knee collapsed. I'd also bring up the possibility of Beverley hurting himself elsewhere in his body due to favoring his knee, but I'm not a 'medical expert.'

If the guy wants to play, great, but we as Blazer fans have seen what happens when a team allows injured players to come back too soon.

Another thing about Beverley is although it's only his 2nd year in the NBA, he'll be 26 years old in July. He has a lot of miles on him, and has played all over the world. It's not like he's some 20 year-old who is going to be able to hopefully recover quickly. I won't be surprised if Beverley is basically out of the league in 2 years due to his knees.

I hope he does play. I hope his knee collapses. I hope his career is over. Karma be dammed. Fuck that guy.

I love the "but James Andrews cleared him to play" line. Beverley is already injured, and whether or not he can get hurt worse is totally unknown, even by James Andrews (as was shown in the RGIII fiasco).

The players are always going to want to play in these games and I really wish someone in the Blazers organization would have realized this and just shut Brandon down instead of letting him play on that meniscus right after surgery.

Hopefully this kid has someone who will save him from himself. The guy plays like a mini Gerald Wallace and is not going to play "safe". I know I'm totally paranoid about knees because of our history but I wouldn't wish what happened to BRoy on anyone even if he does play for the bad guys.

Nah, I don't want him to get hurt, but if he does, there will be a lot of questions asked, since he's on maybe the best contract in the NBA right now through next season.

His reaction to Dame getting hurt sealed the deal for me. He's a fucking asshole. Totally classless. I was a huge Reggie Miller fan when I was a kid, and he was probably the biggest trash talker in the history of the league, but he would never stand over a guy in excruciating pain. It's like NFL players, you don't taunt a guy who is seriously hurt because you know it could be you. Beverley has no fucking class at all.

Someone on Reddit perfectly pegged him. He's the overly aggressive homeless guy who won't take no for an answer. SVP and Russilo were hammering on him yesterday. They were specifically talking about his antics during Dame's injury.

He ai't talkin' all that shit now is he?

Dame.

Stopper.

Dame was 1-7 for two pointers and 2-7 for three pointers, but had 12 FTs 3 TOs
Bevelery was 5-11 shooting and had a steal.

I'd say Bevelery played a much better game 2, than 1. But he still did not stop Dame.

His playing style and his yapping may get under our skin, but that dude is playing on one leg. If the rest of the Rockets had half as much heart as Pat Beverley, we'd be down 0-2.

Beverly is only out there to stop Dame (not out there for his offense or running the team's offense). Playing better or not, if he can't stop or slow Dame, he isn't helping the Rockets much.
