It comes across as they have a plan and they're going to stick to it no matter what.
Do I agree with it? who knows, but that doesn't mean it doesn't come across as a plan is there.

First season they weren't supposed to get hammered? Last year they were thinking 2nd round, as they had made the 2nd round the previous season. You don't pay that much money expecting to get an 8-seed and get swept.

The Blazers aren't a usual team.

In his last 3 full seasons, Nate McMillan won 54, 50, and then 48 games (.659, .610, and .585). In 3 straight first rounds, he went 2-4 (.333, better than Stotts' 11-24 [ .314] even including his Aldridge years). Then he went only 20-23 (.465) with a bunch of new players and was fired midseason, it was so bad by Blazer standards.
