What would be your qualifier for a trade?

Don't change the starting lineup.
Scorer off the bench.

My qualifiers, sooner rather than later, if it is a "bigger" deal. Give them time to gel. Rather not wait until the trade deadline if there were a bigger deal to be had like the ones you posted, moving Nic, though not a huge fan of those personally.
Ideally, don't touch the starters, outside of a huge upgrade or a no brainer type of deal.
I'd love at least one bench piece, a guy who can come in and be our SG/SF Kaman.

TO add, I think naturally, you initially look for higher priced guys, and teams that are awful and potentially either looking to blow it up, or, move a guy to continue their rebuild.
A few "lesser" bench guys who are on bad teams, rebuilding teams, or could maybe be available, I'd call and ask about
Jodie Meeks, Gary Neal, Kevin Martin, Wilson Chandler Arron Afflalo, Marcus Thornton. Some more than others.

The guy I'd like to see on our bench is Afflalo. Will be interesting to see if Olshey stands pat at the deadline. Wouldn't surprise me.

That second one is flat out something for nothing. And free is a very good price! [/TomPeterson]

Yes it is, but I still think Minny would bite. 31-year old Kevin Martin clearly does not fit into their rebuilding plans. It saves them $2.5 million this year and gives them two expiring contracts and gets them out of the last two years and $14.5 million of Martin's contract. Maybe they ask for a future draft pick too, but I think they'd be tempted to do it anyway just to move Martin's contract.

The question then becomes, is Martin good enough for Olshey to abandon the cap flexibility he's worked so hard to create for next summer. Is Kevin Martin a needle mover? He'd certainly give us another legitimate scoring threat off the bench and can back up both Wes and Nic (for short stretches). A shorter 8-man rotation of the starters + Kaman, Blake and Marin would look good in the playoffs.

Question: Does it improve the team?

If the answer is yes, then you trade whoever it takes
