What Would The Blazers Have To Do

Reminds me of Ed O. wanting to trade away either LMA or Roy for Ricky Rubio.

Trade into the top 4.

...Which means most likely LaMarcus.

Pretty much this. And I'm not really interested, personally. In moving LA that is. Interested in pairing Exum with Dame, but doesn't seem at all likely to me.

Actually, it would probably mean Lillard, if Exum really is a PG. The contracts match up, and whoever is in position to draft Exum would have Lillard locked up for at least 3 more years (2 more years plus Q. O., at worst), instead of one more year for LMA, who is a UFA and may not want to re-sign with whoever has the 4th or 5th pick.

So, the Imaginary Trade Land deal would be much more likely to be Lillard for Exum. Let's at least keep things realistic if we're going to talk about trading for Exum.

Not sure why you're assuming this. I don't want to trade LMA at all. He is by far our best, most consistent player. But If there was a package that could include Wes and some of our other guys to possibly land Exum, I would entertain it. I started this thread mainly because I wanted to get the views of others on the subject.

Yeah, I'd be into trading Wes, but I think it would take a Lillard to actually get the deal done. Why would the Magic want Wes and lesser players for the 4th pick in the draft? Unless a 3rd team is involved, but I still don't see how it benefits Orlando, unless they get an AS like Lillard in return.

Would have to move into 4th and Orlando would ask for Lillard, they don't want LMA because of his age and where they are at in their rebuild and our other assets shouldn't look that great to them. CJ is unproven, leonard has only value to us at the moment, Wes isn't for a rebuilding team, Crabbe is more of a throwin and Robinson doesn't have a ton of value. They might want Batum but I'd rather keep Batum then trade him for Exum, because of how thin we are at the 3 and there isn't really anyone we can pick up in FA that would be a great fit, unless we worked it out to get affalo/4 for something like Batum/CJ/Crabbe.

He has massive potential but I see him as a guy who can either become Michael Carter-Williams or Alec Burks (Who isn't bad at all but certainly not franchise changing).

I rather test our luck getting leftover guys somehow in the 2nd round who will have a chip on their shoulder. I like guys like Jordan Clarkson, Sean Kilpatrick, DeAndre Kane, Geron Johnson and the Greek Freaks brother (I'm not gonna attempt to spell that correctly).

The whole fantasy about getting Exum is that he would fit in great with Damian. But he is not worth Damian or LMA.
Wes would not be enough. Batum and CJ would be fair but If I am Orlando , I roll with Exum and Oladipo as my back court for the next 10 years.

If I'm an Orlando fan, that'd get me very, very excited. That's worth more than any trade. Oladipo is the real deal.

That backcourt would potentially be the scariest defensive backcourt in a long time.

That's a strawman. You turn Exum into a 2 and have him shooting 1000 3's in practice. You play him at SG and he and Lillard share the assists. But ultimately you make every attempt to pair him with Lillard without losing LMA.

It would take Lillard because Aldridge is an old fit for Orlando Had we done better drafting the last two years, maybe we'd have more assets. Guys like Leonar_ and McCollum were poor lottery picks

LA is expendable, Lillard is not, neither Batum or Matthews can get us a top 10 pick let alone top 5 so if Portland was going to trade someone for Exum it would be LA. Cleveland is likely the only option and as nice as it would be for Portland to swing a deal. Not even the Cavs are dumb enough to trade #1 overall in a loaded draft and other assets for a slightly better version of Channing Frye.

Or you let Lillard play the two and shoot off the ball something he does a million times better than Exum and let Dante attack the back and be the primary facilitator.

Supposedly this kid is so good that the Sixers are thinking about trading MCW.

He is Russel Westbrook athletic with Derrick Rose level defense. If he develops a jumper he will be a monster for years to come.

Who is the "slightly better version of Channing Frye?"

Well, that's just your opinion, man.

I assume he means LaMarcus Aldridge. This is the same guy who talks about Portland fans overvaluing their players. Now LMA is a "slightly better" Channing Frye. HAHAHA!!

If that's what he meant, everything he says needs to be taken with a grain of salt for all of eternity.

That sounds like a player who should be the #1 overall pick.

Others see him as a young SG who is trying to be a PG, and will take years at the NBA level to learn to play PG.

Why do you think I jump on the guy's posts? He's been posting mostly garbage since he arrived here.

Makes sense. How odd is it that both Soup Juggler and now MCW are both rumored to be on the block.
