Masai Ujiri will aggressively attempt to trade Andrea Bargnani before July 1 as his top priority now that he is general manager of the Toronto Raptors.

Bargnani is owed $10,750,000 in 13-14 and $11,500,000 in 14-15.

The Raptors can use their amnesty on Bargnani during the second week of July if they are unable to trade him.

No.

No way.

No way, no how.

Not if we got him free.

Just, wow, no. No to Bargs.

He's exactly what we don't need.

I'm just asking. I think he might fit Stotts system though. I just wouldn't want him as a core guy.

I'd happily take him at like 4 million a year. Not at what he's owed. Unless they sent Valnciunas with him, and there's no chance of that happening.

Like Pau Gasol without the rebounding or inside game.

I'm not sure if he has negative value or zero value. So, they'd have to send someone/some thing else with him.

Well I think the Rapters will end up using the amnesty on Bargs. So if that happens should the Blazers be interested?

I think he would only look good next to D. Howard. L*kers should sign him.

He would ONLY be considered if amnestied. And even then I would imagine we don't bid as much as another team would.

I never could see why he was drafted #1. I don't see the Blazers needing in any case.

I'd make an offer to sign him if he were amnestied but only if we can get a traditional banger to play center first. He'd be a decent backup/insurance policy to LaMarcus. Lets just say I'd take Bargs over Frye and plenty of posters were ready to take Frye back in the past.

I'd take him back if it meant getting Big Val. He would be our starting center from the get go and bringing Bargs off the bench might not be so bad. I doubt Toronto let's big Val go however. They are more likely to move Ross or Derozen.

The guy is so grossly overpaid, it is tough to remember that he isn't actually worthless. As a cheap bench player whose only role was to score, he would not be a negative.

Oh god, fuck no. Do you have any idea how bad this guy is? He's the second worst rebounding 7-footer in the entire history of the NBA - trailing only Brad Sellers, but "gaining" on him with every passing season. He's such a bad rebounder, he'd make LaMarcus Aldridge look like Dennis Rodman by comparison. I have no idea how anyone 7-feet tall can have a TRB% of 7.6. There are PGs with higher TRB% than that. It's like you have to actively run away and avoid all contact with any missed shot to get so few rebounds. I swear to god, I'm 6'4", almost 52 and can't jump over a pencil, but if I was in the NBA right now, I'd have a TRB% > 7.6. That 7.6 TRB% he posted last season is tied for the second worst by any 7-footer that played more than 1000 minutes. And, he has 6 of the 20 worst TRB% seasons by a 7-footer in the history of the league. The only other name to appear on that list more than twice is very late career (34 - 36) James Edwards. OK, I take it back, Bargnani has now passed Brad Sellers as the worst rebounding 7-footer in the entire history of the NBA.

He's a guy without a position. Way too soft to play center (WEAK defense and NO rebounding) or even power forward. Toronto tried him at all three front court positions and he failed at them all. He can't guard anyone. Supposedly outside shooting was his strength, but like Manute Bol, it was just a short lived novelty act. He's shot a combined .300 from 3-point range the last two seasons. The guy makes his team worse - and that's hard to do when the team you play on is already really bad. Last year, he went on a finger pointing rampage and blamed his teammates, GM, coach, the fans, everyone but himself for the team's poor performance, got benched and the team IMMEDIATELY started playing MUCH better.

Even without the ridiculously shitty contract, the guy has negative value. I wouldn't take him if he paid us to play. He just flat out sucks. One of my least favorite players in NBA history. If the Blazers ever sign this waste of space, I may have to put my fandom on temporary hold until they come to their senses and cut him. But, I won't have to worry about that because last time I checked, Neil Olshey isn't a total fucking idiot.

He's like a thin branch on a large oak. They serve a purpose, but you can't depend on it to support your weight.

Maybe we should ask what they would be willing to include?

Could we get Big V?
Ross?
Gay?
Future unprotected 1st?

Two years left on his contract
Would be a nice back up big
Not advocating, just not closed minded about it

With V, I'd say yes, it'd be worth it. Ross.....I don't think so. That's all our cap space there. Not interested in Gay. Future 1st is a bit away.

That being said, I actually think Bargs' post defense is slightly underrated. Though I might be a better rebounder, at 5'10"
