$250 million dollar impact. Those that don't see it that way won't go but just might tune in smoother way, especially if there is a blazer in it.What is the NBA All Star Game
Thieves target Portland drivers using fake emergencies to flag them down
Portland’s homeless desperate for change as the city moves forward with mass encampments
This is cause for anger. Our government literally doesn't give a crap about it's own citizens, right in front of us.
Pathetic.
So are you in favor or opposed to the encampments?
Personally, I am in favor. There is no good solution to homelessness, but letting people live en masse on our city's streets definitely is not one of them.
Start converting office space to residential. Convert shipping containers to apartments. So are you in favor or opposed to the encampments?

Well world peace would be nice too, but it ain't gonna happen soon.It might be a start to get people off of our streets, but it is just a band-aid to the problem. As it doesn't get at the root cause of the homeless crisis.
Tackling the root cause of America's homeless crisis would be more ideal. Rent has become outrageous all up and down the west coast over the last couple of decades. Coupled with low pay, or a fixed income, and you have a recipe for mass homelessness. Our politicians aren't closing the loopholes that corporations are using to continually raise our rent. It seems to me that Americans have no rights against corporate greed. Other than the sidewalk.
Rather than round up our citizens and placing them in "reservations", we should help to keep them in their living situation, whether it be a house or apartment. Paying for a homeless person costs more in the long run than it would be to keep them housed.
Tax the rich to pay for all of it. You will have money left over for other projects as well. It isn't right that they get to keep their tax dollars out of the kitty while the rest of us are on the hook to pay, whether we like it or not.

So then what?
