No, it hasn't always been bad there. Maybe in your lifetime but not always It was a great place to be in my younger years such as the 60s and 70s.

My God, the man is adding to the graffiti. He should be shot, taken to the hospital under guard or picked up by an unmarked car and hauled off to some sort of secret facility for questioning. Personally, I would favor some sort of torture or at the very minimum a good beating perhaps never to be seen or heard from again. Imagine that, actually drawing graffiti showing how the Make America Great Again Trump administration is doing something wrong. A news man was shot? Good, they show nothing but fake news. Don't believe your lying eyes when you watch the fake news.
 
As far as homeless, the State should designate an area outside of town aways for a homeless/counseling working ranch, that provides room and board nc with an agreement to participate in a program for achieving.
A place like the bagwan had with trailers and facilities. Don't look at it as a concentration camp but rather a rehab/medical retreat as a spring board.
When I was growing up I spent a lot of time downtown as a young kid and teenager. Back then they had vagrancy laws that were enforced. Skidrow was for homeless but they didn't spill over much into the hub of DT.
If wed don't take a proactive approach in addressing this issue it will only metastasize and be much worse.
 
Neither party cares about the homeless. If they did care, there would be no homeless. America is rich enough to spend money to the fix problem. They literally don't care to do so.

What it all boils down to is, giving a crap about your citizens. In this case, other Americans.

Homelessness is America's failed wall.

What's happening in Portland is the same thing that's happening in every state in our union. People are tired of police overstepping their bounds.

People in here are part of the problem.

Seems counterproductive for you to lump us all (white people, I’m assuming) under the same banner. You are making a whole lot of assumptions.....which you have chastised white people for in the past. You have NO idea of what I personally think or what actions I am taking to do my part to make things better. You know what happens when you make assumptions. Don’t lower yourself to white standards you have criticized. You’re better than this. It’s this “holier than thou” attitude that makes people reluctant to get off their couches and out of their basements, because in YOUR eyes we can apparently do absolutely nothing right. Extremely demotivating......if you want respect, understanding and cooperation, you still have to extend the same regardless.

I am very tired of police overreach, and even more appalled by the federal agents agitating for further violence (Which the “protests”..... that aren’t really protests that late at night....are exacerbating). Take the time to read the threads and you’ll find most people here feel that way. Don’t tell us what we do or do not think. You don’t want to hear it from us, so please extend us the same courtesy. I personally am VERY much on your side. Quit trying to make me the enemy. Thank you.

I think I would qualify as part of "the rest of the country". My other friends and family who grew up in Oregon and now live all over the country may qualify as well. The rest of my friends and family who still live in Oregon and don't bother going into Portland anymore might qualify as part of "the rest of Oregon". People living inside a bubble don't exactly have an outside perspective of their bubble, strange how that works.
