Basically, list the players in order of who you want on the Nets. not necessarily who will be the best, but the best fit, or who will help the Nets most. Feel free to do as many as you want, throw in explanations if you like.

Why would you take a chance on McGee or Jordan before taking a chance on Randolph?

i think we have too many soft lanky bigs... we need someone with SIZE... like boone swift williams krstic diop are all tall but they don't have the muscle or size to compensate for post up defense. I don't know how big exactly deandre jordan is but from his picture he just seems like another big who needs to add muscle. We need some big size with toughness and emotion in our bigs that can score in the low post and play defense. So whoever fits that description is the person who i think we should draft. Kevin Love comes to my mind out of this draft class when i think of that. or of course beasley but we have no chance.

Assuming the Nets keep the pick, and they don't get a top-three, I'd be shocked if they take anyone other than Westbrook, Budinger, or CDR.

But why would picks 6-30 trade with one another. After all is said and done they would still not have a top 5 pick.

I'd listen to him, not only does he know a lot, but he's an expert on the Italian League.

o.iatl is right. I've seen Gallinari play a couple of times, and he didn't blow me away. He's lead AJ Milan this season, but he's still not better at least 7 or 8 prospects. I'd definitely pick him in the top 10, but if their are other, better prospects available, there's no reason to. Batum, the other highly rated international prospect, should go in the top 15, and he's intriguing as well. Both are good players, but if the Nets want to win now, they're not the answer. Both are still rather raw and thin, but extremely talented.

If we get a shot at OJ Mayo, we should jump at it, trade RJ and move VC to SF. He's a good player, I know he's overrated, but that doesn't mean he'll be a bust. He can create himself scoring opportunities, something RJ doesn't do too well. Too bad he probably won't be available at #10.

Gallinari is gonna be special, he's already the best player in the second best league in the world. He can play pretty much any position besides center, and he is already a very versatile offensive player, he is a great shooter, and can get around practically anyone with his ball-handling. He just needs to work on his post up game and he'll be a great mismatch. He's also solid on defense. He's really intense, he could be a great leader, always looking to win. He seems like he really wants to improve too, I read an interview and it looks like he's got a great head on his shoulders. I think the kids gonna be something really special, and I could see him as another Dirk, if not better.

McGhee looks like a bust in the making.
Not only is his draft profile horrible, but he actually looks slow in COLLEGE. It looks like Yao is faster than him.

I'm not sure Gallinari fits into what we need. He's "LBJ of Europe". But we already have a primary ballhandler in Carter, a secondary ball handler (and a "PG of the future") in Harris, and we have RJ. It looks like at BEST he can be a KVH clone.

We need a wing who can defend or a legit offensive player in the post.

First off, I'd rank the Greek and Russian leagues (along with the ACB, which I assume you ranked #1) before the Italian league. 2nd, I'd rank Terrell McIntyre ahead of Gallinari: right now, he's more experienced, he has lead his team (Montepaschi Siena) much further than Gallinari with AJ Milano and IMO, he's has the upper hand right now over Gallinari. In a few years, Gallinari will no doubt surpass him, but we're talking about the present here.

Gallinari will probably never have a post game, since he's just too thin and that's not his style. You can say "what if" about anyone, but with his current arsenal, Gallinari will never be more than a good starter in the NBA. He's not the next Dirk. Their styles are very different. Not every European big man who can shoot 40% from three plays like Dirk. Dirk likes the post and the turnaround fade away jumper, something I've never seen Gallinari pull off or even try to do. I don't see him surpassing Dirk in terms of talent, not even close. I can see him averaging around 13 ppg/6 rpg a few years from now, but he'll never reach Dirk's level.

The Dirk comparison was more so as a mix of his ability to shoot and handle the ball, while being the size of a big man, and also how he could be the best Euro to ever play in the league, not necessarily the playing style. But I guess we'll just differ on the other points for now, I know I won't be able to convince you guys.

We'll just have to wait and see.
