Is blackjack still the best player odds in the house? I've never played, but am interested in learning how to best play.

I just play craps and almost only bet the field and the pass line.

Craps gives you the best odds against the house. Odds still against you, but I believe I read once that game has the best odds.

I like hitting the poker tables. House takes a little of pot each time but you are really playing others and taking the house out of it.

If you are going to play blackjack, single deck blackjack gives you a better chance of counting cards vs. the shute.

LETTER OF THE DAY - Gambling not a remedy for economic problems
Published: Monday | February 6, 2012 6 Comments THE EDITOR, Sir:

Many of the writers expressing views on the subject of Sunday horse racing have declared that the Bible does not say that gambling is wrong. This is to misunderstand the Bible. Much of the teaching of the Bible is not explicit, but implicit.

To understand God's rejection of gambling, one has to look behind His words concerning work. From the beginning of Creation, God's plan for the sustenance of the human race physically was based on work. The first work of mankind was farming.

God established a principle for the sustenance of physical life: "In the sweat of the face thou shalt eat bread." It is this principle which was repeated by St Paul in the New Testament: "If any would not work, neither should he eat." (2 Thessalonians 3:10)

Man should not take material possessions from his fellowman, but work hard so that he may have material possession to give to those in need. This is the basic principle of life given by the Bible. It is based on work.

Gambling is diametrically opposed to this. Gambling takes the possessions of others, not as the payment for work, but as the winnings by chance. Instead of giving to those in need, gambling takes from those in need, as all statistics show that those who gamble most are the poor.

Families have been brought to abject poverty by gambling. It is because of the evils of gambling that the Tenth Commandment states, "Thou shalt not covet anything that is thy neighbour's."

Jamaica, with its high debt and weak economy, has one great material need - increased productivity. Only hard work and saving, instead of gambling, can overcome our present economic problems.

No government which has the best interests of the nation at heart could seriously advocate increased gambling as a remedy for our problems.

I was just watching a show about Las Vegas on some network called Planet Green. Way cool pieces covering various strategies, high rollers, different types of perks (whoa!), and what and what not to do while in Vegas.

I've only been there once but wanna go back!!

I only gamble what I'm prepared to lose. Strictly entertainment. Heh, BLAZER PROPHET will tell you. On many an occasion, I've literally spent hours in the casino watching him gamble, while holding on to that $20 (or whatever) I had won at the outset of our visit.

Craps are the best odds but you can lose or win fast. I've blown thousands of dollars in 1 hour and made thousands in 30 minutes.

I love black jack but I am robot with it.

Basically I sit on a table and figure out my starting bet. Most the time it's 50. When I win, I add half my bet and keep building until I lose a hand. Once I lose, I go to my original bet. I hit anything under 16 if the dealer shows a 7 or higher. I stay on any possible bust hand unless the dealer has a winning hand.

I see the other way. Blackjack out of the shute happens fast and you get a lot of hands in over a short period of time. If you want to stretch your money out, go play craps and only bet the come line and maybe a little more. But out can stretch your money out at craps (just don't have a lot of chips on the board) but with blackjack and minimum bets, the money coming and going much faster . . . has been my experience.

Regardless is there a more exciting gambling game than craps? There is a reason you hear all the yelling usually coming from the craps table. I bet you have all kinds of chips on the board when playing craps . . . it will make your heart race when someone gets on a roll.

my strategy is to not gamble. I'd rather blow the money having fun. Booze, women and good eats.

:MARIS61:

If I do, I'll do blackjack. I got good when I was unemployed a long time ago on hoyle casino.

On craps I bet the come line and odds after the roll. If its 4 or 10 then it's 3 time my bet. 5 and 9 it's 4 times my bet. 6 or 8 it's 5 times my bet. I play that way before I go anywhere inside the board. I have to bet house money there.

I drive 61 mph where the limit is 60 and I'm screaming with pleasure as the wind blows through my well-oiled hair.

It's true. ABM is so tight with his money in a casino you couldn't pull a needle out of his fanny with a tractor.

However, that said, he's very shrewd.

I find out which games Scott Foster is betting on and I bet with him.

Tim,

As a former partaker in the gambling arena, there are a few things to look for.

1. Blackjack. Make sure if you are going to play blackjack that you find a single deck table. Your odds drop the more decks they use.

2. Take some time to learn baccarat, and play as the banker. Those are very good odds as well.

3. Play craps. Learn the game, but play the pass line

4. Pai gow poker is a great game where there is a lot of pushing. Decent odds, about 2.5% in the houses favor.

5. Roulette is a good odds game, but you have to stay away from 00, 0, 1, 2, 3. The house odds go way up

I work with a former black jack dealer and he's going to give a few tips before ABM & I hit the casino in Lincoln City. He has some interesting insight to the game.

craps all the way. it can be an intimidating game if you don't know the basics but learn. like others have said, there is a reason the cheering and fun you hear in the casino is almost always coming from the craps table. stick to the outside of the table and you can make some good money.

i use to play blackjack but i tend to stay away from it now, it just lost it's fun for me. pai gow poker is a great game if you aren't into gambling too much. you can sit at a table for hours and not lose much, you just won't win much either, but you'll get plenty of "free" drinks.

Hey, I want to share with you my experience. I have been familiar with gambling for a long time and I can say that it is a very risky business but if you get used to it and understand the strategy you can really earn good money. For more than three years I have been interested in gambling, so I can tell you for sure that the main thing in this business is to find the right place. Fortunately, my friend recommended me clubvip777.com and I have been playing only here for more than two years because they have fast payouts and a wide variety of games, so I advise you.

Just don't have the soul of a gambler. Aside from betting a dinner on a sporting event it never appealed to me. Guess I would rather keep my money or spend it usefully.
