I know we dont have Cap space and it's probably impossible to keep all our Free Agents, i'm not a Cap expert so what are our Options? What can Neil do to put a competitive Team on the floor next year? I think it's obviously we desperately need a upgrade at the forward positions, and another underated position is we absolutely need a Classic Poin Guard who can run the offense for the 2nd Unit and also can play with Dame and CJ, Evan Turner is not and will never be what we all hope. We have to make some trades and put our pick and future picks on the Table which is probably necessary. Give me something positive S2 ! :smiley-195517897341

I hope to be getting drunker than I ever have after the parade through downtown. Oh you mean the roster? I can’t really tell until after this is all over.

Perhaps more than any other offseason, we will have an opportunity to get some high quality scraps.
But, yes, they will be scraps.

I would sort of like to see them get a basketball coach. But that is about twenty some years old now. Do they still make those?

What I hoped for my summer vacation (outline):

1. Championship Parade
2. Better Posters on S2
3. Move bedroom from basement to attic
4. Off-load Aminu and Turner
5. Keep Kanter and Hood
6. Hire Van Gundy
7. Hook up with barfo's supermodels
8. Gain 20 lbs of muscle

2. Gain 20 lbs of muscle (in your DICK)

FTFY!

Get your priorities straight! :D

Let AFA walk.
Sign Hood.
Trade Lillard and some for Pelicans #1.

That Nurk gets healthy and that Dame and CJ stay healthy. Thanks to questionable cap management, their supporting cast is going to get worse instead of better - so it is ride-and-die with those 3.

To finish my Studio, Begin digging out for the pond and creek going through the Japanese garden i'm going to build. Sell my CRV and get a band van.

What else....

OH You meant for the Blazers huh?

Well.... Retain the following players:

CJ
Dame
Collins
Nurk

Done.

Find a way to rid ourselves of Turners contract. Possibly Meyers too.
Find a way to keep Hood, Canter and Curry.

If we can do that, I'm happy with not even bringing anyone else in.

Unless we can bring in a Blurry Melo.

Definitely not the proper time for this thread.

You might as well say "find a way to get LeBron" too.

My hope is that he improves the team. There's three ways to do this:

- Get creative and work out a sign-and-trade for a star (Jimmy Butler) or near star (Julius Randle) free-agent.
- Trade straight up for a star (Blake Griffin).
- Trade for a couple good role players that fit well that make us better / offset the loss of others while clearing up the Full MLE (ex. Harkless and a 1st for Prince, Turner, a 1st, 2nds, and cash for Olynyk).

If you can roll with that 3rd one and have a lineup like this going into next year, then it'd be a success.
Lillard / McCollum
McCollum / Hood
Prince / Layman
Collins / Aminu
Olynyk / Meyers / Labissiere

*Nurkic's return would slide Olynyk to PF and Collins to the bench, or we'd have Olynyk off the bench.

Regardless, this is going to be the most important off-season in over a decade. I hope Neil is able to do something well, instead of bargain hunt his way from the WCF back into a 1st-round exit sort of team.

This will piss people off - but - my prediction is that Olshey uses the WCF appearance to seek a job with another team. Better for him if he can just dump this cap mess on somebody else. If he stays, expect him to be very conservative.

I don't really care if he leaves, I just worry that the team will fumble the situation.

Id be happy. We need someone whos more aggressive and creative.

How. Explain how we'd be able to keep Curry, Hood, and Kanter

Smoothtalking sales pitches.

Come on man. We have been over this. Know its difficult but mostly it depends on whether they will take less or not.

Im hoping they do.
Trade turner and leonard and possible picks for space.

Why you making me to go over this again when you know there are x factors, intangibles that no one can answer right now?

It wouldn't surprise me at all. I actually think other teams would be interested.
If he were to leave suddenly I would expect Dame & CJ to re-evaluate the state of the franchise.
Did you the hug Dame gave Neil after after game 7. Those two are tight.
Dame may be the guy that need a change of scenery.
