I know you are obsessed with Bjelica but I heard two things when he was signed by the Kings after backing out with a deal with the 76ers.

1) Divac promised him as a condition for signing him that he wouldn't be traded while under contract.

2) Bjelica threatened to go back overseas if he was traded.

Now since that's been a year since it went down things could've changed of course but I'm still thinking he's basically untouchable.
Don't forget; our GM is a great charmer!

I’d be surprised if any of that were actually true. Where’d you read that?

I would ask for a link but you are saying "I Heard"? As in you were talking to someone and you were listening or evesdropping so i assume there is not a way to confirm this?

Can we ask who you heard this from? Or is that maybe not really a good idea to say that?

Either way seems like a huge stretch not wanting to move from a cellar dweller to a contending team? Even more so if the money is right?

I don't have time to find my source on that one. The facts are that Bjelica was considering going back to Europe last summer before agreeing to sign with the 76ers. He then backed out of that deal and signed with the Kings.

Something had to convince him to change his mind, right? This wasn't like DeAndre Jordan going back to his old team after agreeing to a deal with the Mavs. My post is what I recall hearing how it went down. Like I said a promise or a threat doesn't always still mean anything a year later.

We need a big swing. Guys like Otto Porter, Gordon Hayward, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love and Andrew Wiggins all fit the bill. Cap space is meaningless when these guys would be better than anyone we'd get. Remember Evan Turner? We can discuss the individual merits of the fit of each of these guys but we have been clamoring for Neil to make a big acquisition. These guys fit the bill.

Those are also bad contracts for the production they provide. A perfect example is Otto Porter as he is still owed 27+mil and 28+mil and only brings you a low to mid teen scoring average.

It's about roles. Porter's role would grow significantly on the Blazers. He's a very talented player. I don't love the contract but it's not my money. If he made significantly less he wouldn't even be available. We aren't going to be able to sign a guy who has the ceiling of Porter, Griffin, Love or Hayward. You have got to roll the dice on a reclamation project.

Not to :deadhorse: - but Porter is the youngest of the 4 and has the fewest health questions. If you are going to take on a bad contract, those are importent considerations.

That's an assumption on Porter as he has now been with 2 different teams and pretty much the same results. Now, I do like Porter, but we are a year away from losing some large contracts off the books and gaining some flexibility and like any trade, it depends on what it would cost. Porter will also be a free agent the same time as Lillard, McCollum and Nurkic. That would be 4 large contracts that would need to be dealt with.
