But that has been proven by eye witnesses, historians and archeology.
I remember I had the same sceptical arguments, but when I went to disprove it, I found it couldn't be unless one intentionally refuses to believe clear facts
technically an agnostic wouldn't be concerned with evidence.
also, i assume you're referring only to a deistic god.
lmaoso Buddahist that you spell it wrong?![]()
Kind of surprised that Atheist/Agnostic makes up nearly have the respondents so far. That's a far greater showing than the public at large.
I'm technically an atheist. I say "technically" because I am so in the same way I'm a "liberal." Both words have been so demonized that I find it hard to even describe myself as such, even though it's what I am.
I suspect that at some point atheists will just commandeer the word "agnostic," because it's a lot less threatening sounding. In much the same way "liberals" are trying to re-brand themselves as "progressives."
Ah, there we go.are you of SE Asian decent?
I think Oregon has a pretty high Atheist/Agnostic demographic
edit: This is percent of those with religious belief

go north dakota!
yeah I saw it at first and was like "WOW I didn't realize ND was so atheist! wait... OH!"
it matters what people believe because it's impossible to keep fundamentalism out of politics.
Funny, but I've noticed the same problem with atheism.
Most people who say they are agnostic, are in fact atheist. I'm an atheist and I don't claim to know there is no God. Most atheists I know do not claim this either, although there are some ignorant atheists who do. The reason I don't know if there is a God or not is the same reason I don't know if there is an alternate Earth where people wear underwear on their heads, or any other ridiculous notion that can't be disproved.
When there is no evidence for something existing, I tend to believe it doesn't exist. Hence, the belief that there is no God. Self-proclaimed agnostics, does this differ from your thought process? If so, how?
Traditional atheists believe that there is no god, and that the existence of a god-like entity is impossible.
absolutely false. in fact from what i've seen the notion that atheists believe there can't be a god usually originates as a straw man argument from christians to shift the burden of proof for their own belief.
the VAST majority of people that consider themselves atheists both currently and traditionally do not claim to be certain there is no god of any kind, nor claim that a god-like entity is impossible.

Atheism is based upon a materialist philosophy, which holds that nothing exists but natural phenomena. There are no supernatural forces or entities, nor can there be any. Nature simply exists

Or, you've been misrepresenting atheism, which seems more likely the case based on your post.![]()

Ironic smiley is ironic.

says the all mighty wikiAtheism can refer either to the rejection of theism,[1] or to the position that deities do not exist.[2] In the broadest sense, it is the absence of belief in the existence of deities.[3]
T
1. the doctrine or belief that there is no God.
2. disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.
"If I can't see it, I don't believe it."I'm not sure the ironic smiley exists, so it's either ironic or it isn't ironic. Being agnostic has me so confused.![]()

lack of belief in god is not responsible for liberal extremism or socialism.
I didn't say it was. A lack of belief in God, however, certainly correlates to a lack of acceptance of any moral absolutes that are found in the Bible, Koran, or other religious sources...which of course leads to moral relativism and the assumption that we can all decide what is "right" for ourselves. Pretty tough to keep that world view out of your politics.

100% proof of prophecy?
So does Lord of the Rings. They prophesized about the return of the king, and then it happened. Along with many other things. OMG!! Who has thr ring? Hide it! Hide it!
for the poll, atheist.

moral relativism like "it's wrong to kill anyone except in times of war" i'm pretty sure that's a Christian thing too?![]()
