Could it be more obvious? When a Blazer is shooting 3 for 3 of 3PAs, the team should recognize the hot hand that is in the zone and keep feeding him. Meyers was 100% in the early going of the Apr 10 SAS game and on the way to a high scoring game. Not continuing was a mistake. We have seen Blazers make 8 or 9 swish3s in a game, and this should have been the one in which to continue to feed his hot hand.

In the playoffs, it is essential to counter the opponent's strong 150% 3 point scoring with at least 13 made swish3s, focusing on the guy with the hot hand, and not to make this error of strategy. He could have contributed another 12-20 points in the 2nd half. Let's hope that the Blazers will show the situational awareness to feed the hot hand for 39 or more points/game from swish3s, whether that is by Dame, CJ, Allen, or Meyers.

Recognizing and going to strength, the Blazers can win the Western Conference, and the NBA Championship!

Holy shit something I agree with. I hate seeing a box score with a guy finishing like 3 for 3 from the 3 pt line. Come on, gimme one heat check in someone's face.

I kind of agree with this but not really. I have seen some games where Leonard has a good half and then not a good second half. They may have figured his trade value would be better increased by just stopping him while he had three for three. Some hapless GM might assume the problem is coaching, not Leonard.
 
The issue is that by continuing 3PAs the lead would have been maintained in the 3rd and 4th quarter, instead of falling behind. The Blazers need to use strategies that solve the problem of losing the lead by lagging behind in the 2nd half. This is one of them.

The point is to keep the stream of success going, which can be improved. Blazers took only 28 3PA in the Spurs game which is not enough. With an additional 8 such shots, the lead would likely have been maintained. Although it was exciting to win on the last shot, having a 4 or more point cushion would have been better. Instead of being outscored 55 to 52 in the 2nd half, the Blazers could have enjoyed the lead. Continuing to use swish3s for scoring power can be one way to improved probability of winning in the playoffs.

Keep bringing the Meyers mojo swish3.....gotta love the optimism! Since you started posting again, Meyers has indeed made more swish3s and played better...I'm guessing you're his life coach guru am I right?
 
Is the opposite also true, in your mind? If someone goes 0-fer, they stop shooting? What's the number of consecutive misses to stop shooting?

Dame has some 1-15 games. I've heard for 30 years now that shooters are supposed to keep shooting.



Interestingly enough, only 56x in history has someone continued their hot 3pt shooting with volume (set limits arbitrarily at 80%2pt, 75%3pt and 6 3pM). Only Danny Green, Kyle Korver, Reggie Miller, Steve Nash, Chandler Parson and Nick Van Exel have done it twice. No one has ever done it 3x.

I'm ok with hot shooters continuing to shoot. I like seeing Dame try a 35-footer when he's hit 4 3's in a row. In this case, however, history shows that maybe it's good that Meyers quit while he was ahead.
 
Meyers 3 pt form is amazingly similar to the motions used by elderly Chinese doing Tai Chi in the park early in the morning......sort of like ketchup that has sat for ages trying to squirt out of a plastic bottle.
