I'm disappointed it finally came to a lengthy suspension/ban.

See? In his mind, the season was over December 4th, so he took his usual summer off from the forum. It must have really screwed with his internal calendar, though.

Denny decided that MIXUM was more trouble than he was worth and used a post of MIXUM quoting a "Smoky and the Bandit" tag that someone else had applied to him as evidence that MIXUM was admitting bad intentions and banned him. Ultimately, I think it fell under "customer service"...more customers preferred MIXUM gone, so Denny obliged.

That's how I saw it unfold, anyway. I wasn't a moderator or anything, so I'm sure there were internal discussions I didn't see.

He wouldn't be posting now anyway. He usually had to leave after the regular season and couldn't return until the following season. It just so happens that this "break" will be for a bit longer

It's not just Mixum, I think there is a change in the tone of the board. The majority wanted a happy no drama kind of board where you can read and post Blazer thoughts without posters trying to push your buttons, get you upset or derail threads.

I think this board has achieved that for the most part. But with that you have mixum banned, Nic on hiatus, MM doesn't seem to be around much and overall debates have now lowered to bantering with papag (sorry papapg, bring it back on me ).

I think the board has lost it's edge . . . and personally I enjoyed the edge.

Really it has made me want to go the other way just to stir some shit up around here . . . but I don't want to be banned and I respect most like a harmonous board.

Edit: I don't like the troll that comes in and uses all caps and says stuff that makes no sense. Mixum, if he was a troll, was knowledgable and creative. Heck, given the repuation Blazer fans have for being knowledgable about the game, Mixum was a perfect kind of troll for Blazer fans. Now if I want good troll banter, I have to deal with ODENISGOD.

This board with mixum was like a reality TV show. If you enjoy the fake and annoying drama of these shows, then you may have liked what Mixum brought to the message board.

Personally I am flabergasted that our society embraces these types of programs. But wtf they dominate the ratings. I just don't get the obsession.

It was a cost savings move by Denny. By getting rid of Mixum, Denny was able to eliminate 2 mods from the Blazer forum. It was either that or outsource all the mod positions to India.

I think we've reached the point where the OP's question has been answered, and anything else is either a rehashing of what one thinks about a poster or how much they like or dislike how the board has changed. Either way, a good point by BNM that this has ceased being about basketball.
