My bad I didnt get a chance to post the up coming game schedule, so the lack of a Laker/Nets thread was nobdies fault but my own....hopefully, it wont happen again...but a very busy holiday weekend for me.
Anyway, big win tonght, it shouldnt have took overtime to pull off the W, but when you leave the window open for Kobe as long as the Nets did, he is bound to make some big plays eventually...and he did down the stretch. But at the end this was vintage Jason Kidd, he just found ways to keep us a head all night and even though he missed the big free throw...his defense on Kobe early and his decision making were the keys to the victory. Kidd just tore those young Laker guards apart with his bag of tricks.
Kobe and Vince really got into a very heated and pshyical matchup tonights but you have to give credit to Kobe because he guard Vince extremely well and go in his chest and kind of won the mental battle between those two. The matchup would have been more interesting though if, Vince would have guarded Kobe. But Vince and RJ was in foul trouble, so the Nets had to relief Carter of defending Kobe to keep him out of Foul trouble.
Nenad Krstic was big too, they didnt really have anyone to matchup with him, Cook gave them a little something..but without Brown, Krstic was able to get inside postion all night and especially on the boards.
Hopefully New Jersey can carry tonight's effort over to Denver tommorrow and add in stronger preformances from Jefferson and Carter...and we could actually end up saving face on this trip with a 2-3 record if we get the W.
