Can't even wait for the season to be over. Why can't the Ducks find a coach who actually wants to be here?
you are aware that isn't from an SI writer...right? That's from an Auburn honk who is just throwing shit at the wall. It has already been discredited

Interesting quote:
IMO, a "stand-up coach" wouldn't be in contact mid-season with another school less than a year into his first head-coaching gig. Hopefully the "contact" they claim has occurred has been completely one-sided.
Karma is a bitch.Leaving Oregon to coach elsewhere hasn't really worked out for most.
Not a Canzano fan really but when he says that he checked he usually did his homework and checked. Very rarely wrong when he is that direct.take it for what it's worth and consider the source:

No I only LOL when it’s Duck related.
well, here's some things Duck related, so crank up your lol's:
* in the last 14 years, Oregon is 12-2 against OSU
* in the last 46 years, the Ducks are 35-11 against OSU
after Bellotti retired in 2009 and the Ducks went into their post-Bellotti coaching carousel:
* Oregon's record is 133-43 (.756); in the same time frame the beaver record is 66-97 (.405)
* Oregon has won 6 conference titles; osu has won none
* Oregon has won 3 Rose Bowls; osu hasn't appeared
* Oregon has won 10 post-season games and 6 bowl games; osu has won 1
* since 2000, Oregon has finished in the AP top-ten 9 times, osu has done it once, 22 years ago
* Mark Helfrich was fired by Oregon after he compiled a record of 37-16 (.698); Mike Riley's record was 93-80 (.538), and he'd still be the coach if he hadn't left for Nebraska
And they know how to start a chainsaw. You forgot one very important statistic.
The Beavs have a huge lead in the percentage of fans wearing hunting camo every weekend at Reser.
And they know how to start a chainsaw.
And they know how to start a chainsaw.
Thats true, but IMO a coach who's agent is fielding & returning calls doesn't reflect badly on said coach as thats business. Besides that worry worts, Lanning's deal with Oregon has a 14 Million dollar buyout after this year. To put that into perspective, Nick Saban makes 9 Million a year. To me the tea leaves read that DL's agent is trying to leverage a bigger deal at Oregon for his client... which is his job.Interesting quote: IMO, a "stand-up coach" wouldn't be in contact mid-season with another school less than a year into his first head-coaching gig. I don't mind it. It's fitting and kinda cool when you think about it.That chainsaw shit is so annoying

STOMP
So glad that Miami is paying the salaries of all the Oregon coaches this year per the Mario buyout. They were reportedly going to offer Cristobal $100 mil.
So glad that didn’t come true.
So Lanning’s gone then?
I heard he was a finalist for the Colts job but they found someone more qualifiedNo, but Jonathan Smith is going to take the Colorado job.
Apparently Lanning has been paying attention to the success rate of the bozos who bailed.Dan Lanning spoke on the dumbass un-sourced rumor
"I think history maybe shows that this is a great place to be and not a great place to leave."
I've been thinking about this. It's incredible really.Oregon has had 4 head coaches in less than 6 years (Helfrich fired on Nov 29, 2016)
Lanning is the 4th head coach in that string. And the Ducks are in the thick of the playoff talk with an inside track of winning the Pac-12
how many teams could go thru 4 head coaches in 6 years, and all the chaos and transition that entails, and still be a top-10 team? Maybe, what has been built at Oregon actually is bigger and generates more momentum than who the HC is
Yeah it is.I've been thinking about this. It's incredible really.
