Good question. I think I go with the OKC shot because we don't know yet what kind of run it will catalyze, and because it was a game winner for humanity. Nice, humble, hard working, over shadowed guys 1 and egocentric, ungracious, arrogant blowhards 0.

That captures perfectly how I feel about it.

Talking heads said .. we ain't winning 40 games
Talking heads said ... will miss the playoffs.
Talking heads said ... we will be last in our division
Talking heads said after Nurk went down: Blazers are done.
Talking heads said .. we going to lose against OKC because we don't have superstars
Talking heads said ... Westbroke is better than Dame Dolls
Talking heads said ... PG13 is better than CJ

Dame prove the whole world ... you people are clueless. Cause it is Dame time...

Last night shot was like a massive F*(& YOU to the whole NBA and their lazy talking heads.

Give some R.E.S.P.E.C.T. to RIP City ...
If anything, last night shot was for Paul Allen. We know, he always believed in Dame. ALWAYS !!!

To me it has to be this one. But I say that because I think the theme of the overall game in this case was Lillard on a mission and he was able to cap off an incredible night with the game winner where without him, we would have been blown out on our own floor going to OKC and giving them hope. It also doesnt hurt that it sent a Westbitch and George home and hopefully shuts westbitch up from ever talking shit again.

As a single Blazers game performance, Lillard's last night was the best I've ever witnessed when you consider the stakes and the magnitude of it all.

But your question is specifically about the shot, and it has to go to ".9"

It exorcised the 14-year demon of failing to get past the first round. And like you, I also thought we had lost that game, so when the .9 prayer left Dame's fingers, I didn't expect it to swish; my surprise and shock were absolutely off the charts, which were then followed by extreme jubilation and exhilaration. Additionally, if Dame misses the .9 shot, we lose the game and go back Houston for a Game 7, where the Rockets would be the favorite to win the game, and therefore the series.

Not to take anything away from it, but yesterday's game was tied when Dame made the buzzer beater, so even if he missed the shot, Portland would still have a chance to come away with a victory. And even if we lost last night, there was still one more home game to clinch the series for the Blazers. So the urgency last night doesn't quite compare to the shot against Houston, IMHO.

Also, when the shot went up last night, I knew there was a chance it would go in because Dame has proven his clutchness over and over in his career by now. But for the .9 shot, even after it left Dame's hands I was pissed because I knew it wasn't going in (until it did!). At that point in time against the Rockets, though Lillard had hit a few game-winners already in regular season games, his clutchness was still unproven in the Playoffs.

Not to mention the fact that the .9 shot was off a broken play. LMA was the # 1 option in that last set, and Lillard didn't really expect to shoot the last shot. The fact that he had the presence of mind to break away from the play that was called and then to get the shot off in less than a second with a taller player in his grill added to the epicness of that shot!

That's why I think ".9" is the bigger shot and it's not even really close.

What about Brandon's buzzer-beater in 2008?

His shot last night was right at PG. It was from 40’ and sent a message. The message that Damian Lillard is first team All-NBA and that free agents will line up to join this team over the Summer.

The impact of that shot last night may pay dividends much larger than we can realize!

Anthony Davis took note, I guarantee.

With that shot last night, the brand of Dolla Dame was secured - his number will hang from the ceilings, he just became a future NBA Hall of Fame member and we will see another NBA Championship before he’s done.

While miraculous, his Houston shot does not carry the magnitude of last night’s.

What about Brandon's buzzer-beater in 2008?

Yeah, Roy's shot at the buzzer to beat Houston in 2008 was incredible as well. He had even less time (.8 seconds) than Lillard's .9 and it was from farther out, not to mention the fact that Roy had to catch the ball with his back to the basket. Brandon's shot was also about redemption, as he had fouled Yao moments earlier for an and-one, which gave the Rockets a 1 point lead with less than a second left. Like Dame's .9, I fully believed the game was over and was already hanging my head in frustration.

The most amazing thing about Brandon's buzzer-beater was that he wasn't a prolific 3-point shooter. So the fact that it splashed nothing-but-net was inconceivable.

Having said all that, Roy's shot was only in a regular season game. So I feel the impact and significance isn't at the level of .9.

Amazing how all 3 of these mind-blowing shots were on national TV. Roy and Dame sure knew/know how to bring their best on the biggest of stages.

To me, its the .9 shot. Down 1 with .9 on the clock. The 37, we were tied with time on the clock. Also, i hate Har_en more, so....

OKC was the bigger shot by distance, he was being guarded by a perennial all defensive wing in Paul George and it capped the 50 point night. I loved the Houston shot but I just felt this one was bigger. I liked it more. This could be recency bias but the magnitude of a 37 foot shot just makes it bigger to me.

In the Houston game the shot showed us what Dame could do, cool as a cucumber.
OKC game he came out got 50 points and told the world that he was going to win the game. At 50 points and over 50% from the field and the 3 with a win. This is the game that elevated him from borderline superstardom to bonafide superstardom and the world took notice.
Either is a good pick but the OKC game is the one that put us back on the map and solidified Dame's legacy

The shot against Houston or the shot against OKC?

For me, personally, I still think the Houston shot was bigger for me. I 100% thought we lost that game. I was angry. I was upset. I was worried we were going to lose the series because we were going to be going back Houston for game 7.

So I was just in a foul mood, and then Dame hit that shot. I was legit crying. It was a complete 180 in emotion.

This shot was amazing, and I was jumping up and down and elated, but I still had a good feeling about us going into OT. We were up 3-1 in the series. We were the better team, hands down. Even if we lose this game, I'm confident we win the series.

Was Dame's overall performance better in this game? Ab-so-fucking-lutely! 50 points is just amazing for me. It's the best individual performance I have ever seen from a Blazer. Terry said it. But the shot against Houston still meant more for me personally.

How about you guys?
I've got to agree that the Houston shot was bigger but it's fading.

The Houston series was so back and forth and so much real tension built up. Every game was exhilarating to watch. LMA's first two games were some of the best performances I've seen outside of Lillard's game 5 vs OKC and B-Roy's comeback vs. Dallas. If we lost that game six, we would've been in deep trouble. The hate vs Harden, Beverly, Parsons, and Dwight were pretty bad back then as well, but I also liked that there wasn't necessarily bad-blood. Most of the drama was from the court. At the end of that game, there was so much anger from that out-of-bounds call on Dame, and then our frustration from letting Parsons getting an easy rebound/layup for the seemingly game-winner. As the ultimate 180 of emotions, Dame's shot was the perfect climax to an amazing series and I've never felt that way watching sports before or after. I'd say the level of difficulty was probably greater, too. Running catch and shoot with Parsons chasing him with essentially no time to turn and look at the rim. I think the crowd went a bit crazier that time too.

Houston shot seems bigger because it was the first one but I like the second one better because of the team identity when he made it. It's a new start...not a team Dame joined but a team that was built around him.....the last shot was "his" biggest moment as the face of the franchise because he no longer shares that title with.....y'know.

Steve Blake?

What are the repercussions of a miss?

Much worse if the shot is missed against Houston. Therefore to me, the make is bigger.

I'm of the opposite opinion. The most recent shot didn't really matter as much since it would have just been overtime, but he nailed it anyway. The first one was a prayer, the second was a cold calculated dagger.

How 'cold a dagger' a shot is seems a bit less cold when there is no chance that a miss leads to anything bad. Not taking anything away from the shot...it was incredible. But if he missed, so what? Game continues, at home, with their 2 best players with 5 fouls.

Well they could've got ran out of the building in OT, but we’ll never know.

I still kind of say that for me it sort of depends on what they do after. They take another round come out looking more fresh from having almost a week off, then thats huge. After that shot vs Houston they went out and got pretty much wrecked by SAS.

I say the “magic” of the moment for the Houston shot was crazier. I mean I lost my mind that night. For the franchise though that performance, that shot, if it leads to more success in the playoffs this year, I think it becomes the “bigger” shot.
