Bullies!

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/201...id-regret-attacking-obama-over-the-sequester/

Appearing on CNN Wednesday, the Washington Post’s Bob Woodward said a “very senior person” at the White House warned him that he would “regret doing this,” referring to his outspoken criticism of President Barack Obama’s handling of the impending forced cuts known as the sequester.

“I think they’re confused,” Woodward told CNN host Wolf Blitzer. Woodward apparently went on to criticize Obama further over the sequester the same day he received the warning from the White House.

“It makes me very uncomfortable for the White House to be telling reporters, you are going to ‘regret’ doing something that you believe in,” he added. “It’s Mickey Mouse.”

"It's Mickey Mouse"

How dare someone in the press have an opinin other than the offical white house release

It should make everybody uncomfortable, and many outraged. Unfortunately, the major media isn't going to touch this one, even though it's a major media legend making this claim.

First Amendment.

Freedom of the Press

Helloooooo

The White House isn't even rebutting his claims, just telling him he'll regret telling the truth. Obama is such a wimp.

lol at The Blaze.

Like Glenn Beck needs more outlets for his retardation.

Unnamed source is journalistspeak for "I made this shit up".

Unnamed source is journalistspeak for "I made this shit up".

An 'Unnamed source' known as "Deep Throat" brought down a US President, and Woodward was a part of it. The entire Bush presidency was slimed with "unnamed sources". Patrick Fitzgerald had a 3 year investigation into a "leak" that everybody knew was from Dick Armitage and Colin Powell.

You lefties are so hypocritical.

I have to admit, the lefty sheep are being pretty darn hypocritical.

The white house making threats is a terrible thing. With that said, I don't see anyone here upset about us finally going over the fiscal cliff.

See the video on page 2 of the Politico article. Woodward confirms it happened.

Liberals do suck the life out of the nation.

It's not really a "liberal" thing but a White House turning bully and trying to intimidate the press when it doesn't go along. It's flat out wrong.

Longtime Dem Lanny Davis Also Reports White House Threat

WMAL EXCLUSIVE: Woodward's Not Alone - Fmr. Clinton Aide Davis Says He Received White House Threat

Bob Woodward isn't the only person who's received threats for airing the Obama administration's dirty laundry. It seems anyone is a potential target of the White House these days - even former senior members of the Clinton administration.

A day after Woodward's claim that a senior White House official had told him he would "regret" writing a column criticizing President Obama's stance on the sequester, Lanny Davis, a longtime close advisor to President Bill Clinton, told WMAL's Mornings on the Mall Thursday he had received similar threats for newspaper columns he had written about Obama in the Washington Times.

Davis told WMAL that his editor, John Solomon, "received a phone call from a senior Obama White House official who didn't like some of my columns, even though I'm a supporter of Obama. I couldn't imagine why this call was made." Davis says the Obama aide told Solomon, "that if he continued to run my columns, he would lose, or his reporters would lose their White House credentials."

... If it did happen again, Davis believes the administration did it to the wrong person.

"Firstly, you don't threaten anyone. Secondly, you don't threaten Bob Woodward," said Davis. "He's one of the best reporters ever. He's factual. You can disagree with facts that he reports, but he's factual. Don't mess with him about his facts. You can mess with him about the interpretation of his facts, but this is not a reporter you tangle with," he added.

What's the fun in being President if you can't threaten a few people.

The threatening exchange:

From Gene Sperling to Bob Woodward on Feb. 22, 2013
Bob:
I apologize for raising my voice in our conversation today. My bad. I do understand your problems with a couple of our statements in the fall — but feel on the other hand that you focus on a few specific trees that gives a very wrong perception of the forest. But perhaps we will just not see eye to eye here.
But I do truly believe you should rethink your comment about saying saying that Potus asking for revenues is moving the goal post. I know you may not believe this, but as a friend, I think you will regret staking out that claim. The idea that the sequester was to force both sides to go back to try at a big or grand barain with a mix of entitlements and revenues (even if there were serious disagreements on composition) was part of the DNA of the thing from the start. It was an accepted part of the understanding — from the start. Really. It was assumed by the Rs on the Supercommittee that came right after: it was assumed in the November-December 2012 negotiations. There may have been big disagreements over rates and ratios — but that it was supposed to be replaced by entitlements and revenues of some form is not controversial. (Indeed, the discretionary savings amount from the Boehner-Obama negotiations were locked in in BCA: the sequester was just designed to force all back to table on entitlements and revenues.)
I agree there are more than one side to our first disagreement, but again think this latter issue is diffferent. Not out to argue and argue on this latter point. Just my sincere advice. Your call obviously.
My apologies again for raising my voice on the call with you. Feel bad about that and truly apologize.
Gene
From Woodward to Sperling on Feb. 23, 2013
Gene: You do not ever have to apologize to me. You get wound up because you are making your points and you believe them. This is all part of a serious discussion. I for one welcome a little heat; there should more given the importance. I also welcome your personal advice. I am listening. I know you lived all this. My partial advantage is that I talked extensively with all involved. I am traveling and will try to reach you after 3 pm today. Best, Bob

It is nice to see the media finally speak out about this intimidation by those who we elect to lead us.

http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-...eek-editor-robert-gibbs-sent-me-abusive-email

JONATHAN ALTER, FORMER SENIOR EDITOR, NEWSWEEK: There is a kind of a threatening tone that from time to time, not all the time, but comes out of these guys [audio problems] this White House, but that doesn’t excuse it. And, you know, they should not play that way, but they, they feel like they’re holding the cards in the relationship. They’ve got people’s access, you know, to hold over them. I remember one time I reported something during the [audio problems] and we were on the road, and we were actually in Berlin. It was on Obama’s [audio break] in 2008, and they didn’t like something that I had reported, and I was disinvited to a dinner that night that reporters were having with the candidate. I was told “Don’t come” you know, you know fairly abusive email.

STEVE MALZBERG, HOST: Who told you that? Who sent you the email?

ALTER: That one was Gibbs.
