Would that be the morons who think they can play with their head up their ass because Hank is back?

No Dump, they have a spot locked up. They're just going through the motions. They don't need to play defense, they might get hurt trying to make a pass

Comon man, they're afraid they'll get hurt if they attempt to match the Bruins. Tempo

Yup, they completely stuck. How dare they don't go 82-0.

I don't think it has anything to do with Hank being back. I think it is simply a team that has clinched a playoff spot, and 98% clinched a division, coming out flat as a pancake against a team DESPERATE for points to make the playoffs.

Don't like it, but it will be reality in a couple of these games down the stretch. Is what it is IMO.

Don't agree Chuck, it's just speculation on your half but this is just the message board so I guess you're entitled to your opinion

Mess stop using the 82-0 card as your defense. I don't care if they win or not today, I'm just disagreeing with you and Chuck about them playing passive because they're afraid they're going to get hurt

They didn't play a good period. I'm not going to jump off a bridge over it.

Who said anything about afraid to get hurt?

Who the FU*K said they were playing passive to avoid getting hurt.

When you play passive sometimes you have a greater chance of getting hurt actually. I don't think that has ANYTHING to do with this.

AGAIN, the Rangers came out flat and with no emotion, and the Bruins took it to them. That's it. Not sure what else you need to see man. Hockey is a game of emotion and passion, and I know that in your world we should have the same emotion and passion in every game despite the circumstances, but that isn't reality man.

The Bruins wanted it WAY more in the 1st. Period.

We've seen this for 8 years. The team takes games off when Hank is in net thinking he will win the game by himself. Jesus. I get it's a regular season game but don't fucking embarass your starter in his first game back.

It's not just Hank. They played the same way the other night against the Kings.

Exactly Mess. This has less than nothing to do with Hank today. Team was flat and Boston wanted it more. That simple to me.

For sure not over. Knowing the Rangers I would be surprised if they don't play MUCH better in the 2nd.

At least it is a team (lack of) effort. The
injury angle is pure BS. They just need
to play their game. And let's hope those
jerks in Toronto are done......cannot stand
NHL way of doing things.

As I've stated in a different thread. The two teams that worry me are LA and Boston because they have good size and always give us trouble.

Doesn't bother me much 94. We beat the Bruins this season. We beat the Kings this season. Klein clearly would help against teams like this though, so keep that in mind as well.

To me the Bruins and Kings both were desperate for points and it showed...and we are not...and it showed.

With that said, sign me up to play the Kings again please, means we are in the SCF, which works for me.

My concern is like I said. Big teams. Very sound. Great centers. Great at faceoffs. Great at forechecking and making us play a game we don't like...short in zone passes and working cycle as opposed to using speed with long stretch passes.

Is what it is. I am not too concerned about it. The Rangers are a very good team. The SC is not easy to win. The most difficult trophy to win in sports IMO. I think we would beat Boston in the playoffs. I think we can beat the Kings in the playoffs (I would sign on to play them right now as I said).

With that said, the Rangers could lose in round 1. That's the NHL playoffs. If I told you we lose round 1 to the Caps would I be shocked...no. How it works in the NHL playoffs man.

Still a lot of shifting in the standings to take place. Islanders can't win a game and could find themselves fourth in the Met if they aren't careful.

Based on schedules and the fact their one game is in Pitt, I expect Pitt to be 2nd and the Isles to be 3rd. I guess the Isles could fall to 4th, but I wouldn't bet on it as the Caps have a tough schedule.

Still looks to me like Rangers/Caps and Pens/Isles in round 1. That Pens/Isles series will be interesting. Guess I would "root" for the Pens.

Sometimes you have to watch 60 minutes of subpar hockey for that one highlight - McQuaid decides he has to get one more dirty hit in after the game is over and Glass drops the glove/stick hammer on his face. Ironically the Rangers played similarly for Hank the way they played for Cam when he took over. The Rangers magic number was 7 going into today's game. AV needs to rest his marquis players so they're fresh for the playoffs.

Don't agree Chuck, it's just speculation on your half but this is just the message board so I guess you're entitled to your opinion

If the Rangers had needed this game, as badly as the Bruins needed this game, they would have shown up. At least I'd like to think so. What bothers me about this game, is that they decided to take a game off in Hanks first game back. Don't understand how they can do that, unless the coaches wanted Hank to face as many point blank shots as possible in hopes that that would help him get back to top form ... And I doubt that.

This board is funny sometimes.

The Rangers played 2 big veteran teams who have both won cups w their core and BOTH are desperate to get playoff spots in their conferencees. This is what happens 70-75 games in a season when you have a team that has already clinched and is challenging for the Prez Trophy.

Relax.....It's a very long season on the players. They know what counts soon

TB has lost two straight. The Habs got whipped by the Jets. The Hawks have lost two straight. The Blues lost at home to the BJ's.

We are no different than those teams. Again just because we want to say we should have emotion and passion and play all out every game, it doesn't work that way. We have clinched a playoff spot and 98% clinched the Met. We are going to have a few stinkers in these last 8-10 games. Just reality.

I wouldn't care who we played if this team
possessed toughness. If the Rangers
showed this attribute.........on the ice,
bring on whomever. Since we do not
have toughness, most want no part of
Boston, Isles, LA Kings........WOW.

I'd love to play the Kings because that
means we are in the Finals again.

I do not know if this team has what it
takes. Nobody knows except all those
'know-it-all' analysts. Yeah, right.
