We have the full MLE and while Pau, Hawes or Pierce may not be available in this price range I think the others are realistic. My ranks at the moment in order are:

Pau Gasol
Andrei Kirilenko
Spencer Hawes
Shaun Livingston
Emeka Okafor (if healthy)
Shawn Marion
Paul Pierce
Jason Smith
Ekpe Udoh
Avery Bradley

On the bubble: Mike Miller, Mario Chalmers, Grevis Vasquez, Marvin Williams

How are you going to pursue Loul Deng? Are you just hoping Stotts can make him into a 6th man player or do you have plans for Batum to go elsewhere?

(realistic based on actual value)
Livingston
Marvin Williams
CJ Miles
Darren Collison
Pierce
Kirilenko
Marion
Stuckey
Nate Robinson
Francisco Garcia

I think that the SF backup position is what needs upgrading from a scoring standpoint, and scoring punch from that unit is desperately needed. So, from your list, I'd go with Kirilenko, Pierce & Marion. Yeah, we're going to need a backup PG if Mo isn't re-signed, but I think that we can get a decent guy for the BAE. Many will laugh, but I'm okay with Freeland and Leonard as the backup 5's.

I wonder if he even wants to leave LAC and if he does Im sure its to start but he would be great. Im not sure what his current value is right now either. Its a name I havent really heard yet on here.

Whoever it was who had the post about Pop & the Spurs having a bunch of 13+ PER guys swayed me. I'm really only interested in FA's that have established the ability to be productive players, and be at least passable defensively. A free agent class of Ramon Sessions, Al Farouq Aminu, and Emeka Okafor would be something I could absolutely get behind.

This one goes to 11:

Rodney Stuckey - MLE?/Sign and trade?
Spencer Hawes - Sign and trade?/MLE?
Marvin Williams - MLE?
Trevor Ariza - MLE? - Sign and trade?
Greivis Vasquez - MLE?
Ramon Sessions - BAE?
Shaun Livingston - BAE?
Jermaine O'neal - VetMin
Devin Harris - VetMin
Beno Udrih - VetMin?
Steve Blake - VetMin?

For single seasons; played in the NBA/BAA; in the regular season; in 2013-14; requiring Player Efficiency Rating >= 13.00 and Minutes Per Game <= 30 and Games >= 60 and Games Started <= 40; sorted by descending Win Shares.

So, the Spurs have 4 of the top ten players on this list. No wonder their bench is so dominant.

The more I look at that list the more I can see why people want (myself included) want Patty. High PER, high 2 and 3 pt %, knows how to win.

It also seems very clear that we could easily add 3 players with 13+ PERs if we really want to.

Their bench is so dominant because their coach is by far the best in the league IMHO.
His system promotes a high PER, not the players. I have no confidence that the players efficiency rating will stay the same once they go to another team.

Al Farouoq Aminu
Avery Bradley
Thabo Sefolosha
Emeka Okafor
James Johnson
Shawn Marion
Spencer Hawes

That's my 7

Marvin Williams has been horrid for quite a while now. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Pau
Okafor
Marion
Hawes
Sessions
Livingston
Hill

I think it would be smart to package 2 players for either Thaddeus Young or Aaron Afflalo. 2 of T-Rob/Meyers/CJ for one of those guys and sign a Pau, Hawes or Hill with the MLE frontloaded would be a great way to bolster the bench. Sign a backup point like Sessions or Livingston with the 2 mil exception.

Nate Rob is going back to Denver last I heard

Just like Loul Deng, How do you pursue Trevor Ariza without doing something with Nic Batum? That is not realistic.

Limiting my list to unrestricted free agents, and those who I believe we may be able to get for MLE or BAE:
- Shaun Livingston, PG (8.3 ppg, 3.2 apg, 14.5 PER)
- Ramon Sessions, PG (12.3 ppg, 4.1 apg, 16.0 PER)
- Andray Blatch, C (11.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 18.9 PER)
- Jordan Hill, PF (9.7 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 19.4 PER)
- Jason Smith, C (9.7 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 12.5 PER)
- Rodney Stuckey, PG/SG (13.9 ppg, 2.1 apg, 14.0 PER)
- Kris Humphries, PF (8.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 18.3 PER)
- DeJuan Blair, PF (5.4 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 17.3 PER)
- Jeff Adrien, PF (6.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 17.5 PER)
- Patty Mills, PG (10.2 ppg, 1.8 apg, 18.8 PER)

If we could grab one Big and one Small from that list using our MLE and BAE, I would consider that a solid offseason.

This is not meant in the slightest to be combative, but why? What does he bring to our team that we currently don't have?

I wouldn't offer him the MLE, but I like him because of all the available point guards, he is probably the most stable. He doesn't have the best asst%, but it's not bad. He doesn't have the best defensive rating, but it's not bad. He shoots well from the floor.

Plus, my favorite part, he's not a fucking midget. I'm not going to worry about putting him next to Dame on the floor.

The reason why I wouldn't give him the full MLE is because there's always that fear that he's going to get hurt again.

Our defense is already a sieve. I am really hoping we concentrate on guys that can play good perimeter defense
