Our defense is already a sieve. I am really hoping we concentrate on guys that can play good perimeter defense

Yeah, that's fine, but part of the reason why our second unit was so fucking horrible is because of the Mo/Dame backcourt.

Bradley isn't a point guard, right?

Not really. One of those things where he CAN play it, but he is better at the 2

He's big for a PG, smart, runs the offense well, doesn't make mistakes, attacks the basket but can also shoot, opportunistic, will probably be our most "natural" PG.
I would offer the full MLE because that's what it would take to get him, also because we have another exception.

ok.

Sessions or Livingston would be my top 2 picks to receive the 2 mil exception. We could front load it and maybe give a player option for the 3rd year. That's it though.

Whoever suggested we give Livingston the MLE is smoking some really good shit. He'll be lucky to get half that.

I think Sessions is more likely to accept the BAE. He's bounced around a lot.

I've always liked him. What about Andre Miller? I thought he was a free agent too or am I wrong? I'd consider him in that short list as well. I think we need a play-making point guard who can make the second unit better. Andre would do that and so would Sessions.

Bradley is 1000000000% times better defensively than Will

Call me crazy, but I think Will is going to be a decent defender. He has the tools. He has long arms, he's quick, and he has good instincts. I think he'll develop into a very competent wing defender.

The Nets played better with Livingston than With Derron Williams, there are 20+ teams with MLEs, he gets one of them. Most of the FAs who are better than him would get more, he's one of the higher-value MLE options IMO.

It's laughable that people think the Blazers can get Trevor Ariza or Loul Deng on this team to come play a backup role. We could maybe trade Batum for a draft pick then go after Ariza or Deng but thats kind of risky. Why would Ariza leave the Wizards to become a backup player in Portland?

He only needs 32 minutes a game. The minutes are there for Nic, Wes, and Deng at the 2/3. At the end of games when we go small he can play the 4......LMA, Deng, Nic, Wes and Damian..... he should drool over that!

The Blazers wouldn't touch Ariza with a ten foot pole. Deng is a pipe dream yes. However a lineup such as this would kill:

Lillard
Batum
Deng
Aldridge
Lopez

Or that! :) Drool indeed.

I think most players have such ego's they just assume they'll become the starter. So its not the incumbent starter that is the problem with bringing a player like that to town; its matching a contract that all the other teams will be offering. All we have is the MLE and those players will get around $10 million if not near the max.

Sessions AGAIN??? Is he even still in the league? I wouldn't know, because I haven't seen the guy do anything noteworthy in the playoffs, ever.

You're the voice of reason here. Answer is, Ariza wouldn't. It's such a dumb idea that it's only worth laughing at.

People forget Kwame Brown got $7 million from the Warriors TEN YEARS after he was drafted and proven to be a bust. NBA teams can't help themselves; if they don't get the tier 1 free agents they spend their money on something every offseason. NBA teams have more cap room this summer then ever, almost half the teams. With a 90% cap minimum team salary that means more teams have to give out overpaid contracts. Livingstone is a lock for the full $5.3 million MLE and the starter quality free agents are all making 8 figures if not the max.

He'll always have a special place in my heart for turning down the Lakers exact same contract offer to sign with the BOBCATS! That was awesome.

Best reason to like a non Blazer player I have seen in a while

The Lakers dodged a bullet there, considering how awful Sessions was in the 2012 playoffs.

It's not reality though.

If the Blazers didn't have Batum I could see Deng coming to Portland. With that said could Olshey would his magic and trade Batum for a top 7 and land Deng?

Ok sell it a different way to Deng.

Luol....... you are our starting SF, Nic is our starting SG, and Wes is coming off the bench when either of you needs rest, gets in foul trouble, or gets hurt. Do you want to win? Sign here.

Livingston is being extremely overrated in here.. but I'd love him or Sessions as our back up PG.

Yes he is, and with his driving and playmaking ability, he'd be a perfect backup PG for this team (asuming he'd take the BAE to come here).

He hasn't been the perfect starter or back-up for any team. He plays on losers, outside of when he got traded to the Lakers. He then managed to have a laughably bad playoffs for the Lakers.

Hell, even Charlotte started winning this year once they shipped his losing ass off to the Bucks and gave his minutes to Luke Ridnour.
