Who are you?

I've seen threads like this on a few other boards and I thought it would be interesting here. basically what this thread is all about is you telling everyone who you are and what you have done in your life.as for me, I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and have spent most my life here. for a breif period I lived with my cousins in Arkansas. Growing up I wanted to play in the NBA, and was quite tall for my age-- pushing six feet in 4th grade. I never made the high school team because of an academic incident which resulted in my banishment from all extra curricular(sp?) activities. In high school I drank a lot, and smoked a lot of Marijuana, I never got caught and it was during these pot sessions I first began using the internet a lot. My dad had internet as early as 1996, but I rarely got online because it took to long to load any porno and it was much easier just to look at the mounds of Porno my dad had, which he didn't care that I looked at.High School was really a blur for me, but about Senior year I relized all my friends were f*cking idiots and losers so I began to grow up a little. I stopped smoking and for a while quite drinking. It was at this time that I moved down to Arkansas for a little while, I was actually going to stay there but ended up back in Salt Lake. I graduated High school 403 out of 405, and a running joke was that there was actually two people in our school stupider than I was. I never had a reputation for being smart, it wasn't that I was dumb, it was that it was just much easier to act stupidBecause my grades sucked I hate to attend Salt Lake Community College. I graduated from there two years later and begun going to Weber State were I just finished my Associates of Science in History. I will continue going to Weber this fall to get my masters degree and I plan on eventually getting my Doctorate.As for basketball, I still love it and I still play it. though after a few knee injuries I am no were near as good as I once was. I've been running basketball based sites since 2001 and have gotten to know many people in the business, mostly sports writers. I love to write, talk, debate about history, basketball, and politics and thats one reason(especially the debate section) why I was drawn to BBW. I know I want to be a writer, even with my bad spelling, but I don't know if I want to write historical fiction or become a sports writer.

Born on February 2nd, 1988 in Alexandria, Egypt. I am the first child, to two parents - both Egyptian, as well. I stayed in Egypt untill I was 5 years old, when my parents decided to move to the United States. The U.S. was regarded to be a great move for the family because it would provide us with a better education, and better opportunaties. I have two sisters, and one brother. Our first ever 'place' was in Novi, Michigan...there I went to elementary school called "Hickory Woods" - because my parents were totally new to the American system, my teachers were so helpful in making the transition an easy one. My 1st grade teachers came over many times for dinner - and basically helped my parents with some options regarding school and stuff. My teacher even bought me a pair of snow boots because she saw that I had none...my parents had no clue about snow and all that...Egypt is hot. lolI stayed in Novi until half of middle school. My parents had bought their first house in West Bloomfield, Michigan...there I finished off my middle school at Orchard Lake Middle School. After Middle School, we moved once again to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan where I went to Lahser High School. In high school I was a really good kid...I was a 4.0 student for the first two years...I graduated with a 3.7. I played highschool soccer, and played a bunch of intermural basketball. I wasn't great or anything - it was all for fun. Summer of my Junior year, I started getting out more. Before than, I wasn't really popular or anything...I knew only like 2 people when I first moved to my high school - so it was difficult at first. I only started to make more friends in my junior year of HS. I began partying, and eventually through partying I began smoking marijuana. After HS, I had the option to either go to Michigan State University, Wayne State University, or University of Michigan. For financial reasons, I stayed home and went to Wayne State University under a full scholorship. I was bummed about staying at Wayne State...but am not anymore because it's introduced me to so many things that I would have never known or experienced. Right now, I'm in my 1 1/2 year of college...and I'm doing extremely well. I am going for a psychology major with a minor in journalism. My plan is to get to med-school at Wayne State - which is one of the best med schools in Michigan. eh...I missed a lot of things, but w/e.

Born in Cameroon (Africa) in July, 1992 to two missionaries, oldest of 3 (sister born in Cameroon, brother in US). I lived there till I was 2, then moved back to the USA (Indiana). Went back to Kenya and attended two schools there. I lived there for 5 years and returned to the US(Indiana), pretty much right after 9/11. I was 9. I went to a public school to finish out half the school year. Then I moved on to a private school, and went their from 4th to 8th grade, as an A student the whole way. I was very close to all the kids in my grade. From 5th grade till 8th I played 11 out of 12 sports seasons available in soccer, basketball, and track. I improved so much over 5 years at my middle school, in 5th grade basketball I was pretty much the star, then in 6th grade I had a terrible coach who dislike me, then in 7th grade my cofidence started to regrow, and this last year as an8th grader I was a major contributer to our championship basketball team. Soccer-wise I'm even better, my 5th grade year was pretty shaky, but after that I improved so much, and probably was the 1st or 2nd best player on the school soccer team (we lost in the quarterfinals to a much better team). I fell in love with the NBA in 5th grade. I have now finished 8th grade and I'm moving on to a small, private high school. I am currentley playing soccer and basketball for my HS in preperation for the fall and winter sports seasons. I think I have a high chance of making varsity as a freshman in soccer an at least a JV starter in basketball. I move on to HS with about 10 kids coming with me from my middle school. I'm not as tight with them as I am with other kids from my MS, but I feel that the HS I'm going to is the best for me, academically, socially, and sports-wise. I hope to finish off HS here and get a scholarship to play a sport at a D1 college (preferably basketball, but most likely soccer). I hope to become an architect, a high school basketball coach, an NBA office person, or (in the least likely scenario) an MLS player. I also hope to someday get married and have a family. But right now I have to stay grounded, stay focused, and be prepared for the next level - high school.

Born on August 27th, 1991 right here on Maui. I've lived hear for all 16 years of my life, I don't regret one second of growing up in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Basically I'm a smart guy that get's by in school with above-average grades, I think a lot of people have the same problem where we don't really apply ourselves too much academically. I started playing basketball at the age of seven and I played in the West Maui Basketball league all the way up until my eighth grade year. I'm a pretty decent player, but in terms of playing for our school team I really would rather just play for fun out on the streets with my friends. Maybe if I work hard and practice every day, I may tryout for my varsity team next year. As for now, I'm a team manager and I get to travel with the team and tape all of the games and break down everything using a professional editing system. I do get paid by filming all of my school's waterpolo games by the coach so that's really fun. I also am a writer on my school's newspaper, I plan on being a sportswriter for my junior and senior year just so I get a taste of what it's like. Basically, I plan on finishing out my high school career and move to California where I can attend some community college that will allow me to further my interests in sports writing and/or TV commentating. It's always been my dream to grow up and cover sports so that's what I plan on doing with my life. Eventually, I'd like to have a wife and kids and just be able to provide for my family and love life. Also, one of my biggest goals is earning enough money so that I can buy a house for my parents because we've been living in the same tiny apartment for 17 years and it's only fair that they can spend the rest of their lives together in a nice house on Maui. So that's me. :winkglasses:

Born on January 6, 1990 in New Orleans, Louisiana. I've been here living in the Lower 9th Ward for most of my life and I love living here; I can't imagine myself being happy anywhere else right now. In elementary school, I was basically known as the 'genius;' the one that would get out; every year I was given some sort of A-list, Honor Award or whatever. I was usually the tallest in my class and everybody wanted me to pick up a basketball, but I never did. I've had a pretty stable life for 15 years up until Hurricane Katrina in August 05, when we found out that we lost pretty much everything. Having to finish school of course, and knowing that I couldn't return, we moved to my aunt's in Nebraska. I finished my Sophomore year there and returned to New Orleans, where my school had reopened and me and my family had the 'chore' of entering the beginning stages of rebuilding our houses. Summer of '06 was probably the most unique summer in my entire life.So, anyway, I finally decided to join the basketball team at my school and it wasn't the easiest experience at all, being a Junior in his first season of organized bball ever, and having to juggle the stress of the situation at home and schoolwork. We finally finished our house in March of this year so things are getting better and I'm poised to have a great Senior year. I hope to either go to Purdue, Texas A&M, or Embry-Riddle in Florida to study Aerospace Engineering or, if all fails, I'll train to become a pilot or something.

I had numerous drawbacks because of that, but nothing serious and I got to do everything as a child any kid would want to do. It was in the 2nd grade, a black chick who I thought was really cute sent my a note asking to check yes or no to go out with her...I checked the yes. Ever since, my love for white women has been gone and its all into the dark ladies(not just black women, indians, hispanics, italians, etc.). I played full contact football from the age of 7 to 15 and was very sucessful at it. 2 homecoming king awards, a all-city invite, starter for schools team...all went down when I had to have my heart surgery. It was March 2nd of 2006 when I have my right heart valve replaced with an artificial valve that is expect to last up to 70 years(it was very new and the most advance of its technology).I also started for my basketball team in middle school where I was also invited to play n the All-East Allstar team(my school and like 4 others from East Memphis...they selected only 12 from those schools). Ive always watched a little basketball growing up, particularly the Orlando Magic. When the Grizzlies moved to Memphis, I turned my attention to them but it wasnt until the 2005 NBA Finals did I really fall in love with basketball. Just the series of Detriot vs. San Antonio, them going to 7 games....just caught me and its never let go. Ive always grown up listening to music artists like Tupac, Three 6 Mafia, Outkast, Alan Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Toby Keith. So Yeah...I pretty much started highschool which is where I am now and Yeah...

I was born in Brooklyn on May 6 1992. We moved to Albany, California very early on because Brooklyn was not a safe place to live back then. In Elementary school I was a pretty normal kid with a lot of friends who stood out as the smartest, but it wasn't extreme.In my first year at Albany Middle School, however, I became increasingly isolated from my classmates and interested in my studies until I was pulled out of school in favor of homeschooling. This was basically to get an ample amount of test scores and to groom me for skipping a grade in a state that doesn't smile upon grade-skipping. I hated homeschooling, but I discovered my love for improv at that time.The next year I was in eighth grade at a private school called Windrush, and was even more of a social outcast than before. I was the best basketball player at the school (not that impressive as it was a tiny private school) but I was kicked off the team for getting into a fight with the coach's son. I got to the point of isolation where I attempted to hang myself but the noose broke. After that point things started to get much better and by the end of the year I had a few friends.As the youngest kid in Albany High School the next year, I again had social problems, but not nearly to the same degree because nobody knew me. It was during this year that I discovered my love for writing. I had, in the past, mainly excelled in math and music, but I lost interest in both of these, instead choosing to dedicate time to writing poems and southern gothic short stories. As a sophomore this past year I finally started becoming not only socially adept, but popular, mainly due to improv classes making me a much more open-minded and outgoing person. I also finally started fully focusing on classes, pulling down the #1 GPA in my class for the year (of course this was partially because of loopholes that made various college drama productions I had done as a kid count as AP classes). I go into rapping, improv, and journalism this past year, which are my three main raisons d'etre.My plans for the future are to finish a year of college by the time I'm done with high school, and then do my second year at a community college, before transferring to UCLA for a double major in english and political science (with a minor in drama that I already have completed) to give me flexibility about what to do with my life since I'm not sure what I'd specifically want to do as a career.

Theres always one in middle school...and the 1st one(between 7th and 8th grade) didnt involve a school, it was a league with a team from different areas of the city and parents just got together and it grew tp be pretty big by that time.
