I feel bad for Dame. He's playing during a time in a conference where his position is just straight up stacked. The only way he makes an All-Star team relies heavily on how the team does. Either that or he would have to put up godly numbers. Triple double numbers.

He has deserved the last couple all star selections and acts like he doesn’t care and at this point I would agree with him because it’s a popularity contest but at the same time at the end of his career it will matter to people in talking about players and pg’s of this time.

Lillard is All Star caliber playing at a time when there are a lot of All Star caliber guards, a number of whom happen to be better than him. He's not being snubbed, he's the victim of a numbers game.

In 2016:
Pre all star: 24/7/4 on 42% FG, 36% 3pt
Post all star: 26/6/4 on 42%, 40% 3pt
In 2017:
Pre all star: 26/6/5 on 43% FG, 35% from 3
Post all star: 30/6/5 on 47% FG, 41% from 3
So far, in 2018:
Pre all star: 25/7/5 on 43% FG, and 35% from 3 and MUCH improved defense.
Biggest jump after the break seems to be from his increased 3pt% but yes, the Fuck You Tour is absolutely real. These numbers are staggering and it's unbelievable that he doesn't get the AS nod.
(also, Dame is like the model of consistency)

Dame is better than Klay, Paul, and Butler in terms of what they bring to their team. And those three are very good. Would you trade Dame for any of those three? Of course not.
